Ole Miss fans can say it’s about the money all they want, but the real issue is they still have not gotten over Lane leaving. He’s the best coach they’ve had in the last 50 years and he left for a better program with a richer football history. That is just the hard truth.

I also think the current situation with Jordyn Tyson is part of why I'm not concerned about the seeming lack of urgency to get Chris Olave's deal done.
I'm not worried about chemistry between Shough and 12. Tyson is behind the curve. Load him up with reps while you can.

So you knock LSU for not having the QB and RB that Ole Miss has BUT you don't knock Ole Miss for an entirely new offensive staff?? That's crazy. Charlie Weis called plays in the playoffs, did we forget this?? Yes, Chambliss and Lacy are absolutely dynamic and great BUT play calling matters!! Knowing what play to call vs a defense is what makes Lane/Weis so good. Their new staff hasn't called a down.

@StealYoTransfer As an LSU fan, I feel that LSU is in the wrong here for the most part. If they had a buyout clause then it should be paid. However, I do not agree with Kevin Carter making this all public before it even started. That was a petty move by him.

I have a question for non lsu/ole miss fans. Who do yall think is in the wrong? OM for suing their former players for the buyouts of the contracts they signed and breached? Or LSU for not voluntarily paying those buyouts after persuading said players to breach those contracts?

@_pgpulse_ The more likely scenario is the players were told by LSU it would be taken care of and then when it came time to pay the piper, they threw them under the bus saying they aren’t a party to the contract. lol.

To counter this argument:
Even if the cap is maxed out, LSU and its boosters can give both the players a pretty hefty nil deal (since there is no cap on nil) and then tell the players to pay their buyouts since the lawsuit is on the players and not LSU. You dumbasses really think LSU didn’t think about this before they decided to act? Jesus Christ use your brain, or what’s left of it at least.

Here’s what nobody is talking about. The money LSU owes Ole Miss has to come from their revenue sharing fund. Look it up. The NCAA football revenue-sharing cap for the 2026–27 season is approximately $21.3 million per school. LSU has most likely capped that out already. So in order to pay that money back to Ole Miss, they’re going to have to take it back from some player(s) to pay it. There’s a good chance they really screwed up here and literally don’t have the money to pay it. Rest assured Ole Miss is going to get that money one way or another (word on the street is Ole Miss produces some very good attorneys), but this is a really bad look for LSU and their money management people.
