This was supposed to one of the safest seat for BJP. BJP has been experimenting, but now it's time to restore back to default. Do not push nomination till the last moment, like BJP did in Mumbai North Central Lok Sabha constituency - dropping a winning candidate Poonam Mahajan and nominates a non-local-resident stranger at last moment.
@bjpprakashmehta happens to be the strongest candidate on ground as of today. He actually lives in the constituency, unlike the current one. Prakashbhai has been working in this constituency for almost 50 years now. He is a RSS Swayamsevak and has tremendous personal and Sangh goodwill.
His relationship with the karyakartas on ground and with influencial citizens in the constituency is excellent. Being a Swayamsevak himself, he will be naturally well supported by the Sangh cadre as well.
Even after being denied ticket he actively helped BJP candidate Mihirbhai Kotecha during Lok Sabha elections.
He was the only BJP leader seen on ground on the Lok Sabha election day since the previous night.
His junta durbar, as a BJP Karyakarta and RSS Swayamsevak sees more people that anyone else in Ghatkopar East constituency.
For BJP there are no guaranteed wins forever. BJP has to earn it every single time. BJP will do well keeping a well networked candidate like him around.
Each seat matters.
