I’ll give you an example of waste in government IT contracts. Yesterday my team supposed to upgrade the landline phone lines in a USPS location. We were not able to do anything because no one in the management knew the phone lines bidding post (location in the telco room), we will be paid 6 hours for waiting for someone to give the information. This was the 3rd time that my team got dispatched at this location, 14 hours in total but 0 work performed.

Americans buried parents alone. Children lost years of childhood. Families watched businesses they had built over a lifetime disappear. And while the country suffered, Anthony Fauci was writing in his diary about becoming “the most famous and talked about person in the country” and marveling that his fame was “explosive and really unimaginable.” There was no camera he couldn’t find. No interview he couldn’t give. No American life he wouldn’t micromanage. He said one thing to the public, and would write the opposite in his diary. Today, when the country finally demanded answers, the man who never stopped talking suddenly went silent.

Dr. Anthony Fauci announces he will be pleading the 5th to every question Congress has: “Although it pains me to do so…I will invoke my right under the 5th Amendment of the Constitution to refrain from answering your questions."

@t_blom @elonmusk You can do that with the Tesla API. Everything you can do with the app you can do it with the API, just create your own script. If you don’t know how to code as any AI agent to do it for you, it should be pretty simple. developer.tesla.com

Feature Request: I want to tell my Tesla that I'm going on a long trip on a certain date in future. It should charge to 100% as a one-off the night before and then revert to the regular charge level. Can you help us out @elonmusk ?

I just give up using google API almost for everything, even when I have free credits. After you spend time setting everything up you will always get some bug or some extra permission hidden in the menus, impossible to find and the project dies. Doesn't google make money when people use their API?? why make it so difficult then ?

this creator just built a zero-delay auto-aim system on an $8 microcontroller he deployed a custom local AI algorithm on a cheap ESP-32 to track human movement with absolute 0-pixel accuracy. the system completely eliminates standard computation delay. it processes the bounding box and moves the sniper reticle instantly, locking onto the target in real time. the next step is hooking it up to a physical robotic arm. it proves you don't need a massive GPU rig to run complex computer vision. 1. runs locally on a microcontroller 2. local AI inference for zero latency 3. 100% targeting precision when an eight-dollar chip can track movement with zero latency, AI becomes dangerous local infrastructure. this article breaks down exactly how the ESP-32 is powering this physical hardware shift.
ard@ardchain

finally! local AI is accessible to everyone. we replaced our massive smart home server with a single $8 ESP32-S3 chip processing voice commands entirely on-device. now anyone can build this. here is the full guide: x.com/i/article/2081…

So a 256GB iPhone 17 Pro costs $1,099 to own The Apple Upgrade leasing program will let you borrow it for: • $45.99/month x 12 months = $551.88 • $31.99/month x 24 months = $767.76 You save $547.12 to borrow it for 12 months or $331.24 for 24 months, after which you send it back to Apple and start a new term for a new iPhone Those are prices without Apple care or initial phone trade-in Unless you want to own your device outright forever, what person who wants the newest iPhone wouldn't join Apple Upgrade and just lease their phone in perpetuity?

@PeterMallouk @charliebilello @grok can you tell us how much was the median house price at peak mortgage rate compared to today median house prices? I think houses were much more affordable in the past even with higher mortgage rates.

“Can’t find US workers” There is quite literally the biggest pool of Americans to choose from in the last 50 years. You are either not competent in finding people, not paying market rates, or have a shitty business. If you can not find people, there is almost certainly something wrong from your side.

You didn't address Elon point. IF goods and service become really abundant , what do you need money for? Money was created to deal with scarcity, but if we have abundance we won't need money anymore. The infinity abundance will create a huge deflation and prices of goods and services will go to 0. You can make the argument that land and house on the beach won't be abundant and we will always have scarcity, and would agree with you on that but Elon was talking about something else.

There are open source alternatives to Microsoft, Office and GPU drive. No one is lobbying to take this open source alternatives down, while for sure Anthropic is lobbying to take open source AI down. You can decide to be closed source, but deciding to lobby for banning your open source alternatives is not good

@satyanadella funny to see people jump to the conclusion I must want to ban open weight models.. I actually think open models can be very useful! But it’s interesting how some historically extremely anti-open source companies are suddenly all in favor of openness 🤔

I’m so excited that @JensenHuang is a believer in open source now, looking forward to the CUDA and GPU driver open source release!
Jensen Huang@JensenHuang

For my first post, I’m sharing a letter @NVIDIA signed on why open models matter. AI will transform every industry, power every company, and be built by every country. Open models strengthen safety and cybersecurity, accelerate innovation and diffusion, and enable sovereignty. The world needs both frontier closed models and frontier open models. images.nvidia.com/pdf/Open-Weigh…

This was the vibe of the interview. She was asking Elon why he was an awful person, he would explain why he is not and how she is bias but at the end she was say “ you are an awful person “ There was no reasoning or willingness to change her mind. Why would you do an interview without being willing to change your mind?

@zannymb @elonmusk Meanwhile… the interview: “Are you actually evil?” “Aren’t you a racist?” “Didn’t you kill millions of people?” “Wait, didn’t ask if you you’re a racist?” “Do you hate Muslims?” “Are you stupid?” …you are literally one of the worst interviewers I’ve ever watched in my life

I sat down with @ElonMusk for The Insider this week. We discussed the future of AI—but also his foray into politics and his attitude towards Europe. Our exchange was extended and at times heated. Tune in on Thursday at 6pm London time (1pm New York): bit.ly/4fsnd9Q
The Economist@TheEconomist

“There really won't be anything that AI can’t do better than humans, apart from being human, perhaps,” says @elonmusk. He tells @zannymb that artificial intelligence may exceed the sum of human intelligence in about five years. Tune in to The Insider from 6pm London time: bit.ly/4vQxWB7

I have stayed in the same hotel for CES/Comdex for 25+ years. The AYCE buffet *breakfast* was free w/amex rez. for a long time or ~$25. A couple of years ago it got dropped. Then they slowed down how you pay to encourage tips. Then they added upsell booze. It is about $75 now!

Interesting WSJ piece on how Las Vegas being a luxury destination has destroyed the cheap buffet. In 2019, 28% of visitors were from six-figure-income households and it's now 75%. The cheap buffet has either disappeared or become $80. wsj.com/business/hospi…
