@NY_LBSS @thechosenberg Making a guy in his 70s homeless because his smoking "was affecting other tenants" (complete bullshit) so that they could finally make more money off of the apartment now that rent control is no longer a factor. At least he gave them a hell of a mess to clean up.

@SumGuyonlinev2 @KuroSekaiAnime Did we see the same movie? There was literally nothing he could have done. His wife was getting herself and on the other side of several infected. When he got to the boat he could have left but still tried to save the other person who set it up.

Let me break this down >People will press blue >its inevitable >Pushing red sacrifices these people but saves you >clicking blue saves everyone with risk > 50% is a small requirement > So as many people as possible should press blue to save everyone > clicking red is selfish
MrBeast@MrBeast

Everyone on earth takes a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press? BE HONEST.

Akash reveals why he IMMEDIATELY called the cops after Vitaly accused him of being a predator… “I was like ‘Okay, I need to call the cops immediately because I want all the evidence to be documented. I don't feel safe right now. And most importantly, all the evidence to exonerate me because I’m fully innocent needs to be documented immediately’”

@Devon_Eriksen_ alright, well let me ask you this, why is it okay to make a concrete slab and put it in your mailbox, but it's NOT okay to put laxatives in your own food? Me thinks that problem is the system and not necessarily the individual.

The Mailbox Test, like the breakfast test, is an excellent way to tell who you can allow to wield power in your society. Goes like this: If someone is hurt trying to destroy someone else's stuff in order to take pleasure from their pain, do you sympathize with... The aggressor because he got hurt? Or with the guy who owns the stuff, because he wasn't the aggressor? You can have people in your society who fail the Mailbox Test. That's okay... they can work at hospices, or shelters for orphaned kittens, or something. But you cannot allow them to vote, or otherwise wield political power. Because if you do, they will open the gates of the city to the enemy. I am personally tired of everyone pretending that people who enjoy ruining things for random strangers are just kewt smol beans who are only aggressive because of all the complex socioeconomic factors and lack of resources. They knew someone would be hurt by what they did. They knew that someone had done literally nothing harmful to them. And those two ideas, in combination made them feel pleasure. And they went and did it. That is the sign of a rotten soul. Defending ourselves and our property is not just a right, it's a moral obligation. Otherwise, we just kick the can down the road for someone else to deal with, someone who may not be able to defend herself. I don't care if a vandal breaks his arms trying to destroy my stuff. Because I value my stuff more than a vandal's arms. And the fact that he tried to destroy somebody else's stuff shows that he, too, values his arms less than the opportunity to hurt somebody. We cannot allow such people inside the city, and we cannot give the keys to those who would open the gates for them.

The Blessed Salt 🧂@theblessedsalt

This post is an excellent litmus test for understanding of just war theory. Despite the fact that I can see how effective this would be, I must oppose it because the damage it would do to my enemy (who bashes in my mailbox) would far outweigh the good of saving my mailbox. Its disproportionality is opposed by our duty in charity (and even justice) to watch out even for the good of our enemies. (Yes, by the way, I have had my mailbox bashed in by random vandals.)

She’s mad that Zionism wasn’t built to last. I hope this ethical bike company gets major sales from this story.
Myriam Shermer@MyriamShermer

A few years ago, my husband — a cycling enthusiast — invested almost $300 in a “built to last” balance bike from @LittleBigBikes for our kids, specifically because parts could be replaced over time. Today, as our youngest needs new pedals and brakes, the company refuses to ship to Israel. Not to a government — to customers. Companies are, of course, free to take political positions. But refusing to serve individuals based solely on where they live is not a “peace stance.” It’s collective exclusion and discrimination. People who oppose boycotts should know where this company stand.

Kevin O Leary reveals he was recently screwed out of a high value card deal “There’s a card out there that I made a deal on. The guy that sold it, who I did not know… I think he used my name to trade the card sideways to somebody else” “Lawsuits are going to be raining from the sky” “The piece is now tainted because from my legal perspective I own it. Everybody that touches that card, I’m going to sue them. As far I’m concerned that’s my card because the transaction took place”

@lol_tenki @Thafnine It's neither illegal nor unethical. If you want to use it month to month then get a monthly subscription. Most platforms require their annual subscriptions paid upfront. The fact that Adobe lets you pay that over the year is uniquely generous.

@Thafnine because it’s still illegal and unethical i can sign a contract that says i get to use a car for a year by paying monthly and if i try to leave early i get shot in the face, that doesn’t make the contract valid or legally binding

adobe is a horrible company that needs to be split up and/or die yesterday and i wish nothing but the worst for the company i am forced to use as a job but i see too many tweets of idiots not reading the site and choosing an annual, paid monthly contract thinking they've outsmarted adobe by paying less only for them to ask for the rest of the money you were contracted to pay if you cancel early, then i get called a bootlicker for not having sympathy!!!!!!!

Let me tell you a secret … if you call Amex and tell them to book you 2-3 seats for yourself they will do it. If I can’t fly first class I always book isle and middle seat for myself. If you book it on the airline they will give your seat away but if you call Amex it always works. You get two tickets with your name on it. I always tell the person in the row “don’t worry nobody is sitting next to us I booked the middle seat too” and when they ask how I always just tell them “I told the airline I identify as a 600lb person and I need to buy two seats” PS …. I don’t know why but the airline people hate when you do this. When I scan 2 tickets for myself I always get a dirty look.
United Airlines@united

The entire row is alllllll yours. Welcome to United Relax Row, three adjacent United Economy seats with adjustable leg rests that can each be raised or lowered to create a cozy lie-flat space for stretching out... You'll also get a mattress pad, blanket and two pillows. If you’re traveling with kids, a plushie too! United Relax Row will be available starting next year on more than 200 of our 787s and 777s, each with up to 12 of these brand-new rows. united.com/Elevated

@ZachLesagePTCG @TheCupidKid It's not a BS angle to insist that everyone is under the same requirements. If you don't care that your opponent is using the wrong card, that's your choice, but to pretend to be ignorant as to why that rule exists in the first place is ridiculous.

The table next to me had someone call out their opponent out for playing a POR Poke Pad at a League Cup 😬 Valid, sure, but they aren’t getting an invite to my summer BBQ so their loss I guess lmfao 😂 R1 at a Cup while losing is wild - we are a community y’all 😭

@ZachLesagePTCG @TheCupidKid You're welcome to play your games however you prefer. If you care to waive specific rules with your opponent's permission, then fine, but for the rest of us who enjoy competing in a fair environment with sanctioned play, then following the rules is a necessity.

@ZachLesagePTCG @TheCupidKid This isn't speeding or driving though. This is a standardized game format. With that format comes a standard of rules. In order to have the most fair and unbiased experience, all players must follow the rules. That's how a game has integrity.

@Kupp_HalfFull @TheCupidKid This sounds like an overreaction. 51mph in a 50 zone is still speeding, do you think that ticket is valid? It is, but the cop is being a dick tbh. Maybe your tires weren’t calibrated correctly and you didn’t even know - same shit imo

@ZachLesagePTCG What is even necessary here? This is a fringe case. It's a nothingburger. People should know when they're using cards that aren't legal yet to play. It should be obvious when those cards are from a PRE-release.

@TheCupidKid @ZachLesagePTCG The card itself is not legal though. Just because it's 1. A reprint and 2. Legal already doesn't automatically make all versions or depictions of the card legal as well. A proxy card would be just as legal in that instance. Might as well proxy the whole deck at that point...

Lodge Card Club Austin
Lodge Card Club Austin@LodgePokerATX·
We know our loyal staff, members, and followers have been anxiously waiting for an update regarding the recent events that led to the closure of the club. We recognize that the closure has had a serious impact for many. More than 200 staff members rely on The Lodge for their livelihoods, and many of our members have funds tied up in chips or pending tournament payouts. We understand the concern and frustration and we want everyone to know that it is not being taken lightly. As much as we would like to provide a detailed update, we are unable to do so at this time because, despite our legal team’s best efforts to obtain additional information from the authorities, very little information has been made available. What we do know is that no charges have been filed, and we remain committed to cooperating fully so that any concerns can be addressed. At the same time, we can confirm that all of the club’s assets and bank accounts have been frozen. In addition, we have been told not to re-open until the investigation concludes. The Lodge has always taken its obligation to operate lawfully very seriously. The leadership team is committed to ensuring that The Lodge operates transparently, responsibly, and in good faith within Texas law by emphasizing strengthened oversight and continued improvement of operations. Unfortunately, we do not know how long this process will take or when we will be allowed to operate again. We obviously believe that the longer our doors remain closed, the greater the impact becomes — not just on the business itself, but on the hundreds of staff members, vendors, partners, and community members who rely on The Lodge every day. Your continued support of The Lodge — its traditions, its staff, and the community that exists inside these walls — means the world to us. We are upset and frustrated by the disruption this has caused and remain hopeful that we will be able to work constructively and with the authorities in a very timely manner so that we can move forward and reopen our doors. All we can do at the moment is to promise to share more information as soon as we are able. In the meantime, if The Lodge has meant something to you — as a place to play, work, or build friendships — we encourage you to share your support in the comments. Hearing from this community means more to our staff and leadership team than we can put into words.
