A statue in my honour is a great idea. But I cannot allow it for now, not until we build a statue for General Salim Saleh first.

Greetings fellow Ugandans, fellow Africans and especially, the Bazzukulu.   I am sending out this message to, first of all, thank God for giving Maama and myself our wonderful children: Muhoozi (Muogi), Natasha (Kukuru), Patience (Pusi) and Kyaremeera (Kyinini)., protecting them and prospering them.  Secondly, I want to thank Maama for looking after them especially for the years 1981-86 when she was the only parent near them. Thirdly, I salute the children for going through the school systems and branching out successfully in the different fields of life – family, career, etc. Fourthly, I thank the Ugandans and some of the Africans for standing with and supporting our family and Political movement in the various endeavours we have been undertaking with them. On this occasion, on the 24th of April 2026, I want to congratulate Gen. Muhoozi (Muogi) on this 52nd birthday. These children, in particular Muhoozi, were born in the resistance, grew up in the resistance, and, in various ways, have made significant contribution to the resistance. Gen. Muhoozi has made significant contribution to fighting corruption in the Army and increasing the lethality of the UPDF.

....4 forming the boundaries. One would ask: why did @KiggunduHamis demolish the building that makes the boundaries of Owino? And why did @KCCAUG allow him to build in front of the market, even on its main entrance is from that side, in addition to taking KCCA land forcefully?

..3 From the above, it really shows the two were separate. Unfortunately, while @KiggunduHamis was constructing on the drainage channel, he took all the reserves, even to the side of the road. In that graphic demarcation, the big strips clearly show the lockups of Owino Market

In 2017, a boundary opening was supervised by KE and carried out by Surveycom. The big strips in black show the demarcation of Owino Market with its lockups away from the drainage channel. The drainage channel constructed by the @WorldBankAfrica on both sides, ../1

@Thomas_Tayebwa Thanks RtHon. Speaker for clarifying about the owner of the land around St. Balikuddemebe. Now KCCA is the one to tell us why it didn’t transfer the land title back to it.This shows that the KCCA ‘mafia’ bosses are the ones behind everything. We request HE. President to intervene

CLARIFICATION ON OWNERSHIP OF LAND AROUND ST. BALIKUDDEMBE MARKET AND RECENT DEMOLITIONS IN THE AREA. I have seen various social media posts and received numerous inquiries seeking clarification on my alleged involvement in the recent partial demolition exercise around St. Balikuddembe Market (commonly known as Owino Market), particularly since one of the affected plots is said to be registered under my name. I wish to state the facts clearly and categorically: It is true that I obtained a lease for a plot in the Nakivubo area in 2018. This was done through the formal and legal processes available to any citizen—I applied, followed the stipulated procedures, and paid all requisite fees like anyone else. When I subsequently submitted building plans for approval, the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) informed me that the land was required for their strategic activities and public purposes. KCCA then offered to compensate me and i accepted their proposal. KCCA went ahead and took possession of the land approximately three years ago. As a result, I no longer own the said land and hold no interest whatsoever in it. I have no legal claim, control, or involvement in that plot today. Consequently, there is absolutely no basis for me to evict anyone or participate in any demolition on land that does not belong to me. The recent events around the market are unfortunate for the affected vendors, and I sympathize with their plight, but I have no connection to the demolition of that night. For those suggesting that I acquired this land due to my current position as Deputy Speaker of Parliament: Please note that I obtained the lease in 2018—long before I assumed this role and at a time when I held no ministerial or an office that could influence such transactions. I remain committed to transparency and the rule of law. Thank you for your understanding. Thomas Tayebwa, MP Deputy Speaker of Parliament Republic of Uganda

Vendors have called @KCCAED for rescue, but deployment has refused her access. I call upon H.E.@KagutaMuseveni to intervene in this matter. But also,Gen.@mkainerugaba, please look into this matter because @KiggunduHamis is using your name, saying you're the one giving him security

This is what's happening now in Owino Market, as we talk – Ham has demolished a section of the market. He's being guarded by Police and Military, and they've refused access to the @KCCAED. The Military and Police have been deployed by D/RCC Shafic Ali.
