One lawyer I met at court during the habeas corpus hearing said abduction is acceptable. I asked if he had ever been arrested or abducted, he said no. Then why wish it on others, this is intentional ignorance and a disregard for rights. Impunity has been normalized in Uganda.

Only three days after the Attorney General insisted Mama Kyeyune was never in government custody, today she was "dropped" at Kanyanya Police Station and immediately remanded to Luzira Prisons. The Museveni administration’s narrative is falling apart—truly shameful.

After @CentenaryBank calling me yesterday to resolve my issue, they sent me a message saying I should contact FIA “to get information regarding the directive on account restriction”. It seems even the bank wasn’t given the reason for that account restriction they were hustling ordered to freeze. Even the issue of who had the responsibility to inform me wasn’t resolved. They owe no duty whatsoever to the customer!

Uganda in 2026! You abduct someone's wife, someone's wife. You hold her incommunicado for over a month. You even swear an affidavit and lie on oath that the person isn't in your custody. After over a month, you dump the person at a police station and slap her with the most ridiculous charges! Most unfortunate. We're only glad that maama Kyeyune, Sherif's wife, is alive - having been abducted on 12th March and hidden away from everyone until today. There will be accountability for these crimes against humanity! #FreeUgandaNow

It is strange that Government often shows more enthusiasm on bills and amendments that people seem to be uncomfortable with. Those are the ones they pass fastest! Other critical bills often take their time. Is it sadism or a crude desire to show Power!

On 10th February, Baliza William was abducted from Kawempe. They first abducted his father and forced him to take them to his son. Todate, his whereabouts remain unknown. On 12th March, Natabi Fauzia, wife to comrade Najja Sherif, was abducted from their home in Kasangati. Her whereabouts remain unknown despite the court issuing a Habeas Corpus order. On 9th April, Nazziwa Agatha, aka Blue Tick, was abducted from Mutungo as she went to attend the vigil for comrade Waiswa's late wife Edith. Her whereabouts remain unknown. The regime is doing everything to normalise this situation, to a point that it no longer causes alarm that people are taken away and held incommunicado for days, weeks, months, or years. We must refuse to allow the normalisation of this criminality. Our legal team is doing its best to follow up on all these cases. #FreeUgandaNow

"the people who handed over our local economy to foreigners – banks, telecoms, coffee, gold, cobalt – are telling us, even the little coming should be minimized. remember, for every dollar ($1) coming into Uganda, foreigners take $24 out of this country. As Tamale Mirundi wld say, "emitwe jino!"

Kati do banks that receive foreign capitalisation (which is usually in billions) also have to seek the Minister's approval before they receive and use this money?💀 A poor country like ours shouldn't be passing laws like this one!

🔴 Gaza… when the earth reveals what war tried to hide While a displaced man was trying to set up his tent west of Khan Younis, he never imagined his shovel would strike a story of painful absence—not solid ground. Beneath the soil, human remains emerged: scattered bones, pieces of clothing, and a silent mobile phone… carrying a full story. Authorities were immediately notified and arrived at the scene to begin examination and investigation. As details unfolded, the unexpected truth came to light… These remains belong to the father of journalist Mohammed Al-Haddad, who had been missing for more than two years and three months. Another story added to Gaza’s long record of loss—where stories do not end at disappearance, but begin a long journey of waiting, pain, and unanswered questions. Here, the earth does not bury memories… it reveals them.

This afternoon the young man seen running from the vehicle received a call from the Israeli army telling him he could die alone or die with his family in the car. He ran from the vehicle into a field and was struck and killed by an Israeli drone. This is not the first time that the Israeli army has used this tactic. It is pure barbarism. Abject terrorism.

@nbstv - Focusing more on pretending to fight it than actually fighting it. - Framing those who expose it as a bigger problem than the thieves themselves - Making it very risky to engage thieves - Thieves being in charge of fighting theft

German colonizers in Namibia, due to their interest in evolutionary theory and missing links executed inmates and decapitated them. Herero women were required to remove all flesh from the heads to create clean skulls suitable for shipment for study in German Institutes. At the beginning of the twentieth century, German colonial rule in what is now Namibia led to one of the earliest genocides of the modern era, known as the Herero and Nama genocide. Between 1904 and 1908, tens of thousands of Herero and Nama people were killed through violence, forced displacement, starvation, and confinement in harsh conditions. This period reflects how colonial expansion was often enforced through extreme brutality and dehumanization. Part of this system involved the misuse of science to justify racial hierarchies. Influenced by distorted interpretations of evolutionary theory, some European researchers sought to study human remains in an attempt to rank different groups of people. Victims of colonial violence were treated as objects of study rather than human beings. Remains were taken and sent to institutions in Germany, where they were used in research that promoted harmful and false ideas about race. Herero women were forced under coercive conditions to handle and prepare these remains for shipment. This added another layer of trauma to communities that were already experiencing immense loss. These actions were not isolated incidents but part of a broader system that stripped people of dignity and humanity in the name of empire and so called scientific progress. Today, this history is increasingly recognized and studied, and there have been ongoing efforts to return human remains to Namibia and acknowledge the injustices committed. Conversations about reparations, historical accountability, and remembrance continue as part of a larger effort to confront the legacy of colonial violence.
