@cabsav456 Signature verification is meaningless to someone who's flooded with ballots to tabulate or has bad intentions. Considering mail-in voting has become one-party dominant, it would only take one partisan activist to choose whether or not to check them.

It's really not though. Mail ballots aren't anonymous. Each ballot is tied to a specific voter, tracked through the system, and verified (most commonly via signature, sometimes with additional identifiers depending on the state). You can literally log in and track your ballot status. On voter rolls, undeliverable or unreturned election mail actually helps states maintain their lists. Voters aren't just left on the voter rolls forever. They're flagged for inactivity and are removed after a confirmation process. I feel like people don't even realize that it's currently already a federal law for states to maintain voter rolls, and the DOJ enforces this if states aren't doing so. Asking states to submit their voter rolls to the federal government (which is what Pam Bondi has tried to do by suing over half the country & requiring them to submit their voter rolls to the federal gov - which even some red states have refused) is not the way to go about this. Submitting voter rolls to a federal database is what the SAVE Act would require though, and that is honestly my #1 issue with this bill. The federal government should not play a role in determining voter eligibility. At. All. There is obvious potential for abuse, and this is not what the founders intended when they specifically said elections should be handled by the states. And if large-scale fraud were happening, it wouldn't be invisible. It would show up in duplicate voting flags, ballot tracking data, audits, and recounts. We've had years of investigations... including in Republican-led states... and none have found evidence of widespread mail-in voting fraud

I agree with Fetterman here. A lot of people in the comments point out that mail-in ballots don't require photo ID. But that misses how the system already works. In most states, you provide a driver's license number or last 4 of your SSN when registering. Under HAVA, first-time voters who register by mail must verify identity (ID or docs like a utility bill), whether they vote in person or by mail. The idea that mail-in voting is a widespread fraud vector just isn't supported by evidence. As a personal example... In Virginia, my dad requested an absentee ballot but later went to vote in person instead. He was immediately flagged, had to bring the ballot back, and election officials verified & destroyed it before allowing him to vote. That's what the system looks like in practice. This simply isn't the crisis it's made out to be
U.S. Senator John Fetterman@SenFettermanPA

83% of Americans agree on voter ID. 71% of Democrats agree on voter ID. Keep it basic: PHOTO ID to vote. Stop turning this into a Christmas list and attacking vote-by-mail. If GOP wants real reform over a show vote––put out a clean, standalone bill and I’m AYE.

@jaketapper While its possible that past statements that someone made are hypocritical, it's also possible that they've changed stances once new information was learned. If anything, she should be more credible considering that she wasnt pro-war before being DNI.

@RoKhanna @RepThomasMassie @mtgreenee That's so dumb, interest was fading long before that. People just don't have the attention span, not to mention the amount of bogus stories made following it impossible.

@DontWalkRUN Though, it probably should be Uh-ron, considering the name is supposed to mean "land of the Aryans" (the same Aryans you'd think of), suspiciously changed from Persia in 1935.

According to Iranian Foreign Minister Seyes Abbas Araghchi, peace efforts initiated by Iran were shot down by U.S. President Donald J. Trump. He also reiterated that Iran is not seeking to strike its neighbors, even though Iran continues to try and strike civilian and commercial infrastructure with both drones and ballistic missiles.

The Trump administration launches the Patriot Act 2.0. "We will unveil and embarrass online espionage, destructive propaganda and influence operations, and cultural subversion." When the government starts defining threats by “propaganda,” “influence,” and “cultural subversion,” it is not just targeting hackers. It is targeting narratives.

@emnode @natalimorris No, no, and i havent read through the release yet to say yes or no. Considering it's executive action, I wouldn't expect much anything new that wasnt already on the books before. But I'll wait to read it all before judging it.

@MadMart93195703 @stevearkwright @RonFilipkowski Not to mention that its ridiculous when the preferred party of one region gets in control, their party dictates the rules for everyone. I kinda wish we were more like pre-ww1 America when we could afford to be smaller and less globally significant.

🚨 LMAO! Democrats just rolled out Joe Biden to trash Trump, but in reality, Biden accidentally ENDORSED Trump “We're in a tough spot, folks—we've got an administration that doesn't share ANY of the values that we have” Yup! No more illegal invasion and no more transing kids! You’re spot on, Joe! Americans REBUKED your sick policies.

Russia is helping Iran target U.S. troops. That tells you everything about trusting Putin. Don’t listen to his words—watch his actions. They always point in the same direction: attacking and weakening the West.

I disagree. Iran is probably relying on political pressure to fight the war. They're hoping Trump will "blink" and he's likely trying to show that regardless of the political costs he won't back off. Russia avoided this by enacting laws against disparaging the president or the special military operation, which is infinitely worse.

@stevearkwright @MadMart93195703 @RonFilipkowski I am a proponent of small federal government, but I believe most of it's roles should be in the hands of state governments who are closer to their citizens and more politically accountable.

@KyleFSB8096 @MadMart93195703 @RonFilipkowski I suspect they’re one of these “Small government” ideologue types — who believe every public service job is “needless” or wasteful — until something happens in their lives that forces a crisis: then there’s no government employee left to help or save them from overwhelming woes.

@KyleFSB8096 @soldicrypto @DJDiddleSpit @RonFilipkowski Can’t say I’m an expert in economic statistical analysis + predictions either. Sounds reasonable to seek metrics for large drops in employment, disposable income or spikes in part-time employment as observable factors towards assembling sufficient data to form a partial picture.

This cannot be caused by CO₂ or any other “greenhouse gases.” I am almost certain that this is due to decreased albedo from reduced cloud cover (which could be caused by any number of factors).

For those who believed it was Iran’s own missile or dismissed the reports as fake news, it now appears the United States was indeed responsible. We truly hoped it was fake—that those children had not died—but that does not seem to be the case.
