It’s 2026. AI can write code, close deals, and diagnose illnesses. But the building department still has you sitting at a desktop PC clicking through 1,600 pages of PDFs from 1941 like it’s a privilege.

Restaurants are making a big mistake thinking that @Google is just a search engine, it's so much more - it's infrastructure for your brand. Maps. Business profile AND search. It's AI pulling directly from your content. It's all connected. The brands building on it intentionally right now are going to look very different from the ones that aren't. Shoutout to all the product teams and of course, my man, the "straw that stirs the drink", @ShawnWalchef and everyone at the Restaurant Influencers Summit in Chicago this week.

ICSC hack I’m stealing from a buddy. Take whatever AI platform you use. Upload the floor map of the show. Tell it your business, your goals, your existing meeting schedule. (probably already knows) Let it build your agenda. Who to see, where they are, when to go. You’ll cover more ground in less time.
