That was a pretty interesting week Tiger Woods got into trouble again. CPAC looks empty. Invincible was terrible this week King Charles III will give a joint address to Congress in April. Who asked for that? Pope Leo hosted the world’s most senior exorcists at the Vatican. He was told that there is a global rise in occultism, esotericism, and Satanism. Not surprised one bit. Perhaps VP Vance saw my tweet on Aliens. Because he is absolutely correct. On Jeopardy, Jamie Ding has won his 11th game. He is fantastic. I really enjoy watching him. This TOC would have both Harrison Whitsker and him at the same stage. In other news, Major League Baseball is back. I get some Royals, Rangers, and Cardinals games here. I love Zack Bryan's lyric “Baseball in the Fall” For movies, I need to watch Project Hail Mary soon, and the Mario movie is out. I was very impressed by the Dutton Ranch trailer. I will have a post about that soon. I saw the Harry Potter trailer. I was going to have a post on that but The Lord of the Rings post came tonight. Perhaps tomorrow night. As I said earlier in the post, Invinicble sucked this week. Worst episode in the entire series. The thing is it wasn't needed as an episode. We have had more Jason Whitlock vs Stephen A. Smith drama. Whitlock won. Trump will appear on the $100 Bill. Trump talked more about Cuba. The Nancy Guthrie Saga rolls on. Sydney Sweeney thanked the U.S. troops. Perry Johnson is now gaining momentum in the Michigan Governor's Race. March Madness has been great. Bigfoot was seen in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. That and Jamie winning on Jeopardy were my favorite stories of this week. For this weekend, I may have a few takes to post. But I will likely write future tweets that are pretty interesting and important. I got more posts out for my subscribers as well this week and coming on the weekend. I am looking forward to bringing you the best news as it happens this weekend. Folks, I hope you have a fantastic weekend. As Tony Kornheiser says: “We'll try to do better the next time” and as Mike Wilbon says “Have a Great Weekend, Knuckleheads” Folks God Bless and make it a great weekend

Exactly what I've been saying, and what my mother has long preached, all these years! Most of my trips to @Chilis have always been pleasant and enjoyable...and you truly get what you pay for there! It's why they've always run miles ahead of other chains, and the fact that "The Food That Built America" hasn't done a story on founder Norman Brinker yet is downright appalling.
Jesse Tevelow@jtevelow

I just got a burger from @Chilis. It was less than $13 with tax—in California. The burger tastes better than a McDonalds burger. Way better. It’s also much bigger. The seasoned fries are better, too. The serving size is way bigger than McDonalds. I also got a full bag of tortilla chips and 3 containers of salsa for no extra cost. The chips are warm. The salsa is tasty. At the grocery store, chips and salsa might cost me up to $10 dollars. I got all of this for under $13. It’s crazy how many big companies like @McDonalds and @netflix will price gauge you to death under the shield of “inflation” while other brands, like @Chilis, will provide consistent value over time—and even improve. The fiat world is a tricky place. Don’t fall for the scams. They’re everywhere. The next time you’re considering a quick bite, drive the extra 5 minutes and get your lazy butt out of the car and pick up some Chilis. No, they don’t have a drive through window or a sketchy kid area laced with germs. They simply offer a 10X better product for considerably lower prices.

To every pessimistic and uninformed parent concerned about LOTR: Your unhinged concerns are unfounded. The Lord of the Rings has Christian themes, and if you can't accept that...that's on you!
The Calvin Coolidge Project@TheCalvinCooli1

Does The Lord of the Rings have Christian themes? First, Tolkien said: “The Lord of the Rings is of course a fundamentally religious and Catholic work” Second, the three main characters reflect the threefold office of Christ; prophet, priest, and king. 1. Gandalf represents The Prophet 2. Frodo Baggins reflects The Priest 3. Aragorn embodies The King Let’s analyze this in more details Gandalf ~ Prophet: Gandalf dies in Moria and is reborn as Gandalf the White. He guides and counsels others, shaping events toward good. Like Christ the prophet, who revealed God’s truth and called people to repentance, Gandalf’s wisdom helps save Middle-earth from Sauron. Frodo ~ Priest: Frodo symbolically “dies” under the Morgul-knife and is healed by Elrond, yet continues to carry the Ring to Mount Doom. Like Christ, the High Priest, he bears suffering and sacrifice for the sake of others, helping to save Middle-earth. Aragorn ~ King: Aragorn walks the Paths of the Dead and reappears in Gondor to restore order and lead his people. Like Christ the King, he rules with justice and courage, securing the victory over. Additionally, The One Ring symbolizes sin and there are several Christian themes as well. I have read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings series twice. It’s a fantastic series that I would highly recommend everyone to read. I also recommend watching the movies. If you don’t watch the movies or read the books then you are really missing out on something special.

Welcome back, Comets! Also rather interesting that @PaperCityMag - a publication catering to the Social Book crowd in Houston and the broader upwardly mobile elite across Texas - was the source chosen by ESPN and other mainstream sources to break the news to all of Houston. Kudos to whichever proud Houston sports stan exists on the Paper City staff!

Breaking: The Connecticut Sun franchise is being sold to the Fertitta family to bring the WNBA back to Houston for a record-breaking price for a WNBA team of $300 million, sources confirmed to ESPN on Friday. This news was first reported by the PaperCity Magazine of Houston.

The second would be quicker, but the Dems would seize on it to engage in total chaos. The first is far preferable, but it would be a long, dragged out process. “But I want to get things done for Trump NOW!” is going to blow up in the GOP’s face, even if it’s supposedly “easier”. Either solution is going to involve the Dems being very nasty, obstructive party poopers, so you might as well take the more deliberative approach, because it will give the Republican Senators more time to explain to Americans why this legislation is necessary, and vice versa. Also, because the GOP controls the Senate, even with a bare 53-47 majority, they can still find ways to run out the clock on the Democrats, stall whatever DC calls a Texas “point of order”, put a particularly nasty Democrat in their place, do something reasonable that may convince Fetterman or another Democrat to join the GOP ranks on a vote, and finally get a vote done with minimal revisions. Of course, Trump is too impatient to want Senate debate, but that’s too bad. Especially if he wants Republicans to take home something meaningful to the voters, which right now is impossible to find because McConnell and Thune have proven to be such dunces that they have sabotaged conservatives. Imagine if Laxalt, Masters, Hovde, Sam Brown, Dr. Öz and others had the resources to overcome the Democrats at the ballot box that were wasted helping mediocre establishment Rs in red and purple states who should have been thrown under the bus. Don’t even get me started on Tshibaka, who literally was robbed of a Senate seat.

The Senate GOP has exactly two options if it wants to avoid drifting into irrelevance and a stunning loss in November: (1) Keep the filibuster and 60-vote cloture rule fully intact, but stand ready to overcome Senate Democrats’ unprecedented pattern of obstruction by aggressively enforcing the “talking filibuster”—a move that would require senators to work longer, harder hours and take fewer recesses, but lead to more thoughtful, careful deliberation in the legislative process, OR (2) Nuke the filibuster. I strongly prefer the first option. But we must choose either one or the other—because the status quo isn’t working and the resulting inertia isn’t just making it impossible to pursue a coherent agenda; it’s hurting the American people. What’s your preference?

If I were the Mayor of Frisco, I would have demanded that Austin Metcalf be honored vocally at graduation. Frisco is nowhere near a socialist hellscape - rather it’s a jock and alpha society juggernaut, and whatever leadership they have there should reflect that. Obviously, the Frisco city and school leadership has some serious issues that need to be addressed.

UPDATED REPORT: 🚨FRISCO ISD REVERSES COURSE - WILL HONOR AUSTIN METCALF AT GRADUATION Just weeks ago, I reported on a growing controversy surrounding Frisco Independent School District and whether they would do the right thing for Austin Metcalf - the student who was tragically k*lled on April 2, 2025 at a FISD high school track meet. At the time, there were serious concerns. This is the same district that faced intense pressure from activist groups like Next Generation Action Network and Freedmen Legal Fund - and ultimately allowed Karmelo Anthony to receive a diploma despite failing to meet attendance requirements and facing eligibility issues under district policy. So the question was simple: Would they show that same willingness to act… when it came to honoring the victim? At first, the answer appeared to be no. I have now spoken directly with Austin Metcalf’s father, and he confirmed that Frisco Independent School District initially planned to handle this quietly - awarding Austin his diploma without even saying his name at graduation. But now — after pressure, scrutiny, and persistence — there has been a change of course. Frisco ISD WILL posthumously award Austin Metcalf his diploma AND publicly honor him by saying his name during the graduation ceremony. It matters to his family. It matters to the community. And it matters for the integrity of a district that was on the verge of getting this completely wrong. This should have been the decision from the beginning! But in the end, they chose to honor a life that was taken far too soon. And Austin Metcalf’s name will be heard

@TigerWoods needs a chauffeur. That is all. Also, at the risk of further burdening regular stiffs, automating vehicles should become a long-term goal for the automotive industry. Would help reduce the risk for an inebriated or unwell driver to hurt others!

@TheCalvinCooli1 Seems a bit odd considering Ogles and Crane would cry about APL's support for maternity leave provisions, Van Orden is a moderate, and Gonzalez not only is a Democrat but was also a Trump impeachment manager. And for the record, Andy Barr is Mitch McConnell 2.0.

@TheCalvinCooli1 Wouldn’t be a bad idea, but it depends on viability in 2028. Being a 2016 supporter of his, if he crosses 5-10 percent like he did before that golden escalator ride (when he was in the Top 3 nationwide), he has my support. Otherwise, I’m not expecting much compared to DeSantis.

Boom goes the freaking dynamite…
Nancy Mace@NancyMace

Where we are on TSA funding...The Senate unanimously decided to give in to Democrat demands to not fund ICE or CBP. They passed a bill by voice vote (which is why you saw them leaving town last night before the actual vote early this morning). The Senate sent it to the House to fund all of DHS except ICE and the Border Patrol (CBP), the agencies responsible for enforcing our immigration laws and removing criminal illegal aliens from the country. This surrender by Senate Republicans was passed in the middle of the night and then the entire Senate decided to go home for 2.5 weeks. This leaves the House with 3 undesirable options: (1) Pass the bill as is, cutting funding for U.S. immigration enforcement (2) Amend the bill to include funding for ICE and CBP and send it back to the Senate. Unfortunately given the Senate’s decision to take a 2.5-week vacation, the DHS shutdown would continue (3) Reject the bill, continuing the shutdown of DHS Given the Rules of the House, passing this bill as-is also has procedural barriers to overcome If there is bipartisan consensus behind a bill, typically the easiest way to pass the bill is under suspension of the rules. Under suspension of the rules, debate is limited to 40 minutes and it requires a 2/3 majority to pass. Unfortunately, clause 1(a) of Rule XV of the House provides “the Speaker may not entertain a motion that the House suspend the rules except on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays”. Meaning we could not consider the bill under suspension of the rules until Monday. The other way in which to pass bills in the House is by passing a rule providing for consideration of the bill and then moving on to consider the bill under that rule. But, clause 6(a) of Rule XIII provides “a report by the Committee on Rules on a rule, joint rule, or the order of business may not be called up for consideration on the same day it is presented to the House”. This is what’s known as the “same day” rule. Under clause 6(a) of Rule XIII, there are limited exceptions in which a House may consider a rule the same day it is reported to the House by the Rules Committee. This includes when 2/3 of the House vote to do so. This is one way to pass the DHS appropriations bill (without ICE and CBP funding) today. There are also various ways in which the House can waive its own rules, including through unanimous consent, through a resolution, or other mechanism. The House can also adjourn midday and start a new legislative day after the rule is reported, bypassing the same-day rule because it is technically a new legislative day. There are still a lot of challenges ahead, but we are fully committed to getting ALL of DHS reopened for the American people. I am willing to stay in Washington through the weekend or for however long it takes, to get this done.

This is the epitome of a DO NOTHING SENATE. If I were in charge, I wouldn’t be holding votes unless three-quarters of a quorum existed. DC is broken.
Publius@OcrazioCornPop

🚨 SENATE SELLOUT IN THE DEAD OF NIGHT: While America slept, just 5 Senators showed up at 2AM and rammed through a DHS funding bill by quiet voice vote. NO debate, NO recorded vote. The five who were present: @LeaderJohnThune (R-SD) Eric Schmitt (R-MO) Bernie Moreno (R-OH) Mazie Hirono (D-HI) Andy Kim (D-NJ) They funded TSA to "fix" airport lines but ZERO full funding for ICE and Border Patrol. NO SAVE America Act, no proof of citizenship nor identification to vote. Now they all prepare to jet off for a 2-WEEK RECESS! Is this the "Republican leadership" you voted for in 2024? House SHOULD REJECT this betrayal. Care to explain this GOP Senate Surrender to voters? @SenEricSchmitt @berniemoreno

Let’s be honest: If your response to some of the Spring Break videos is to either push for an increase to the voting age or dismiss them as “spoiled brats” or worse, YOU will be responsible for DEMOCRATS winning control of Congress. Because you’re simply peddling the message that it’s better to be cooped up at home playing video games, doomscrolling here on X, etc. than to simply get outside, play sports with your buddies, get some sunshine, etc. Republicans who have nothing nice to say about young people - a group that Democrats continue to reach out to with open arms and WITHOUT the condescending attitude that some on Fox News and the Boomercons who feed off the clicks have been displaying towards young people (instead of going after the Boomerlibs who failed to properly educate many of our youth in the first place) - will be responsible for losing control of the House and Senate AND will be responsible for the impeachment of @realDonaldTrump. Period. P.S. If you look at the (mostly White, some minority) Spring Breakers displayed in the random videos from Fox News and elsewhere, take a guess where they probably hail from. (Hint: It’s a slice of the country Republicans had zero worries about BEFORE that golden escalator ride, and in some cases BEFORE Obama was President.) #SuburbanVotersMatter #YoungVotersMatter #IgnoreTheRageBait #WinOrElse

There's basically no difference between this and the exact same kinds of "dumb spring breaker" videos you'd see 10 years ago or 20 years ago or 30 years ago. I actually don't mind the fact that a bunch of 18 and 19 year old kids are totally ignorant about world affairs. That's healthier than obsessively doomscrolling alone in your basement or whatever. The problem is that these kids can vote. We should all just agree that 19 year olds are stupid and don't know anything, and that's basically fine, but it's also why they shouldn't be able to vote. Raise the voting age to 25.
