has anyone stopped to ask WHY students cheat? would a buddhist monk "cheat" at meditation? would an artist "cheat" at painting? no. when process and outcomes are aligned, there's no incentive to cheat. so what's happening differently at colleges? the answer is in the article:

Also can I say what a weird fucking hill to die on for open source software built on cryptography. Do you not realize the insanely disproportionate amount of trans devs who contribute to open source, cryptography, security and intelligence software? Like every cypherpunk growing up, knew of at least one trans 100x dev or hacker that was just an absolute fucking legend. And what made these communities so awesome was the mantra was always “we don’t care who you are; we care about what you do” So to think “innovation” especially in tech is stifled by “creating more genders” is just extra enraging because you stand on the backs of men and women who were sooooo much braver than you, to be themselves at a time when that was unaccepted, and still fucking innovated you under the table.

@MasterTimBlais my answer is that the fabric of the universe itself is fundamentally conscious - and sufficient intelligence only gives us structure/identity to that consciousness

I continue to see misleading analysis about "Solana fees outpacing Ethereum" Don't get me wrong. The Solana growth arc is impressive. But if you look under the hood, it looks like a house of cards. Case & point: Over the last 30 days, 95% of Solana's total fees (base + priority) come from 1.26% of its wallet addresses (!) Curious who's number 1? Wintermute. The rest are bots. ---- Look, I think Solana has a bright future. But I can't help but imagine this conversation as more sophisticated market participants start looking at the network: Wall Street: "Impressive growth this year. Fees are now outpacing Ethereum, huh? Tell me about the customer base." Solana: "Well, 95% of our fees come from 1.26% of our users. We're working on diversifying that." Wall Street: "Interesting. That's a high concentration. Why is it that such a small subset of users contribute to 95% of the fees?" Solana: "Well, the trenches are real. A small subset of our users have found a way to profit off of other users (retail) trading mostly memecoins on our platform." Wall Street: "What are these users doing to capture those profits?" Solana: "Well, they sandwich attack other users. They also issue worthless coins, pump them on social media, and then trade against unknowing retail users." Wall Street: "Is this legal? Also, you're telling me you basically have a few wolves driving 95% of onchain activity? And they are only able to do this because retail users are flocking to Solana right now to trade memecoins? What happens if retail becomes aware of this grift? And what do your fee projections look like if this gets exposed?" Solana: "Like we said, we are working on diversifying our customer base." ---- Again. Nothing against Solana. Massive comeback story. But my sense tells me another period of "chewing glass" is yet to come. P.S. I'm sharing a high-level data-driven report across the L1 ecosystem in an effort to cover why I'm bearish right now. @adamscochran it’s absurd. But DOGE is not about efficiency - it’s about creating a front, where they can cut literally anything, to justify budget increases such as tax breaks for the rich. If they make a mistake, no worries! Just start new private contracts that benefit our oligarchs.

By the way, Trump’s whole rant about “Government spending millions to turn mice transgender!”… The actual line item was funding for *transgenic* mice. Not transgender mice. Transgenic is the gene modification we use to make mice genetically compatible with humans for testing. It’s how we test new medical treatments and reactions to pathogens, it’s a genetic modification for medical research. But the idiot-in-chief thought it was *transgender* mice and cut the funding. This would be the equivalent of saying he’s firing all the air traffic controllers because he thinks “Trans-Atlantic Flights” are how they import DEIs 😫

Day 2, and not one credible person has come forward to make a clear case why this strategic crypto reserve with these assets is a good idea - the only arguments have been isolated bag bias. On the other hand, lots of credible crypto people, including those in DeFi arguing why *at best* a BTC or BTC/ETH one might make sense, but that over all the idea of an SBR is not the right economic choice, and not the right thing for a *federal* government to implement. This effort, especially now only erodes any creditability the industry has (which struggles at the best of times) and distracts from valuable efforts like good stablecoin and securities regulation that is permissive for innovation. It also increases the risk that the pendulum swings too far back in the other direction in the future.
Adam Cochran (adamscochran.eth)@adamscochran

I appreciate that I’ve not seen any credible person in crypto trying to defend the idea of the broad reserve. Some of them would have shamelessly tried if he had stopped right before ADA, but that’s even a stone throw too far. Even many bag holders can agree, these assets do not make sense for a “strategic reserve” of US tax payer funds. That simply moves tax payer dollars to VCs and centralized entities.

If i said some joke tweet about ftx coin a year before the crash, I prob would have got the same bs. I remember the FTX fanboys; they had an army of unpaid twitter interns who would kill to lick some ceo’s balls.

first of all, really telling about the ethics and primary objectives of these people in the crypto ecosystem (talking about you replyguys) - clearly don’t care about discussing tech, just protecting their bags - same people who are all anon; let’s think…. why is that?

I get the rationale for a Bitcoin reserve. I don't agree with it, but I get it. We have a gold reserve. Bitcoin is digital gold, which is better than analog gold. So let's create a Bitcoin reserve too. But what's the rationale for an XRP reserve? Why the hell would we need that?
