Very good points here. I love and respect many of the early church fathers. But their teachings and writings must always be viewed as below scripture. Not equal with it.

That some analogy there. Reading the Bible to examine its claims is totally like waving around a Superman comic to prove Superman can fly.
Yeah that completely tracks because the Bible is clearly just one guy in tights making stuff up in a fictional universe….right?
Not like its actually 66 books written by 40 different authors….kings, shepherds, doctors, fishermen, tax collectors and even prisoners…..across three continents, three languages and 1600 years.
People who mostly never met each other all pointing to the same central events with eyewitness details u can actually cross check against archaeology, fulfilled prophecies and a large body count of people who chose brutal execution rather than admit they made it up.
Yeah….thats totally the same as Superman.
A better analogy would be a detective working thru a stack of ancient testimonies and court records instead of throwing the whole case out because its all in one book.
Historians do exactly this with Caesar, Josephus, Tacitus and Suetonius without having a meltdown about circular reasoning.
But sure….keep comparing the foundation of Western civilization to superhero fanfic. Genius level insight.

For the record, I like Stoicism, and its implicit nobility.
But attempting to resurrect it as a viable moralizing operating system for the modern age strikes me as cope.

@archisoteric FYI - the texts of what became "The Bible" were selected by The Fathers and Canonized by The Fathers. The Church Fathers created the Bible, not the other way around.
