@trad_west_ But Matthew 24:36 says "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only." None of us know when Christ truly returns. It will be when we least expect it.
English

Today is the day Jesus told the apostles about his Second coming!
Up the Mount of Olives, the disciplines approached Him and asked: "Tell us, when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
There, in answering them, He spoke the Olivet Discourse: >Of wars and rumors of wars, but assured them to not alarmed. Such things must happen, and that the end is still to come
>Of famines, earthquakes, and persecution, comparing them to the "beginnings of birth pains".
>Of false prophets and the love & faith of many growing cold
>Of a time where standing in the holy place would be ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel - and warned that in those times people should flee to the mountains.
But finally, in the end, He spoke of the coming of the Son of Man on the clouds of Heaven with power and great glory. Saying "He will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other."
He ended with a warning: "But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."
But told them: "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."

We all know the quiet ache of bringing the same sins, the same weaknesses, the same struggles to confession, again and again. It can feel discouraging, even embarrassing. But this very place of repetition is where the Gospel of Divine Mercy shines most brightly.
1. God is not surprised by your weakness
The Lord already knows our sinfulness better than we do. What He looks for is not perfection, but honesty. “The Lord looks at the heart” (1 Sam 16:7). Every time you confess, you are saying: “Lord, I still trust You more than my sin.” That trust delights Him.
2. Mercy is not earned by success, but received by humility
Jesus did not say, “Blessed are the perfect,” but “Blessed are the poor in spirit” (Mt 5:3). The message of Divine Mercy reminds us that God’s mercy flows most powerfully where misery meets trust. St. Faustina heard Jesus say: “The greater the sinner, the greater the right he has to My mercy.” Your repeated confessions are not a failure, they are an act of hope.
3. Perseverance matters more than victory
We often judge ourselves by outcomes: Did I finally conquer this sin? God judges by fidelity: Did you come back? Falling is not the tragedy; giving up is. Proverbs tells us, “The righteous falls seven times and rises again” (Prov 24:16). Rising again is holiness in motion.
4. Grace works slowly, but deeply
Some sins are uprooted quickly; others are healed layer by layer. The Lord may be forming humility, compassion, patience, and dependence on Him through the very struggle you wish would disappear. St. Paul pleaded for his “thorn” to be removed, but heard instead: “My grace is sufficient for you” (2 Cor 12:9).
5. Confession is not a courtroom, but a hospital
You do not come to confession to prove you are healed, but because you are wounded. Each confession is a fresh encounter with the Healer. The sacrament strengthens you even when you don’t feel immediate change. Grace is still at work, often invisibly.
6. Faithfulness until death is the path
The Christian life is not about arriving flawless, but about remaining faithful. Jesus never asked for a sinless record, He asked us to follow Him. To keep returning, keep praying, keep trusting until our last breath: this is heroic love.
7. Trust is the key that opens mercy
At the heart of Divine Mercy is one simple prayer: “Jesus, I trust in You.” Not “Jesus, I fixed everything,” but “Jesus, I give You everything.” When trust remains, mercy never runs out.
So do not be discouraged. The very sins you keep confessing can become the place where God’s mercy is most glorified, if you do not stop coming back. Heaven is not filled with people who never fell, but with those who never stopped trusting.
Keep going. Keep confessing. Keep trusting.
The Lord is far more interested in your sincere heart and faithful return than in your immediate success.
