Meet Italian-Legal-BERT: a specialized AI model that understands Italian legal language. It's a BERT model fine-tuned specifically for legal texts, making it a game-changer for legal tech in Italy. Think of it as a legal language expert in AI form.

DALLAS
DALLAS@dallasparkua·
🛢️ Dallas has obtained a secret drone defence plan from Rosneft – the source of about a third of Russia’s crude, led by Igor Sechin, a close ally of Vladimir Putin. 📄 The document is both a confession and a roadmap: a confession that Russia’s largest oil company cannot fully protect its refineries, and a roadmap revealing just how fragile those systems really are. 🔍 It maps the security layers Ukrainian forces may face – and serves as a cautionary study for Gulf states on what fails against evolving drone threats. dallas-analytics.com/inside-rosneft…

@Frank_Stones Despite the disparaging comments Italy was a leader in nuclear technology in the 80s and has the companies such as Ansaldo in Genova that are critical to building reactors in other countries, if we want nimby permitting we can build things fast and build them well.

The Qatari Shock: Italy Accelerates Nuclear Renaissance Plans Amidst LNG Collapse The unfolding energy crisis in the Middle East, coupled with Italy's heavy dependency on Qatari LNG, is pushing Rome to reconsider nuclear energy. 🧵

Not that I disagree with nuclear power, but we all know how long it takes to build a nuclear plant under normal conditions. And we all know how long it takes to build anything in Italy. We are talking about 10-20 years while the energy crisis is now. Renewables are much faster to deploy and can help almost immediately. We should learn from China in this situations and see how much renewables compared to how much nuclear they are building. Nuclear should yes take the place of lng, but as stabiliser of the energy net and to ensure reliability. Is not the solution as a main power source for our future

Ukraine opens battlefield data to train AI models for autonomous systems — first in the world 🤘 Millions of annotated combat frames from thousands of missions are now available for partners to train AI. This creates a new win-win cooperation model: partners refine their technologies with unique data, while Ukraine scales frontline capabilities. Better data → smarter drones → faster decisions on the battlefield. The future of war is autonomous.

This is my first day using OpenClaw. I’m too old for this. I only asked it to read a few of the latest research papers, and it already cost me $20. I wouldn’t be surprised if next week it starts taking $1,000 from me every day.

@martinlasek I am very pro local AI, but a Mac Mini is simply not a good investment, if you have one already great you can run qwen3.5-35b-a3b which is a great little model, but realistically you will need to shell out a lot more than 2k for something comparable to Claude

You can pay $200/m for Claude for eternity Or buy a Mac Studio for $166/m and run your own model for free Best part? You own it after 12 months at 0% interest: > M4 Max > 36GB Memory > 512 GB SSD Hmmm…

YES! Someone reverse-engineered Apple's Neural Engine and trained a neural network on it. Apple never allowed this. ANE is inference-only. No public API, no docs. They cracked it open anyway. Why it matters: • M4 ANE = 6.6 TFLOPS/W vs 0.08 for an A100 (80× more efficient) • "38 TOPS" is a lie - real throughput is 19 TFLOPS FP16 • Your Mac mini has this chip sitting mostly idle Translation: local AI inference that's faster AND uses almost no power. Still early research but the door is now open. → github.com/maderix/ANE #AI #MachineLearning #AppleSilicon #LocalAI #OpenSource #ANE #CoreML #AppleSilicon #NPU #KCORES

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth
This week, Anthropic delivered a master class in arrogance and betrayal as well as a textbook case of how not to do business with the United States Government or the Pentagon. Our position has never wavered and will never waver: the Department of War must have full, unrestricted access to Anthropic’s models for every LAWFUL purpose in defense of the Republic. Instead, @AnthropicAI and its CEO @DarioAmodei, have chosen duplicity. Cloaked in the sanctimonious rhetoric of “effective altruism,” they have attempted to strong-arm the United States military into submission - a cowardly act of corporate virtue-signaling that places Silicon Valley ideology above American lives. The Terms of Service of Anthropic’s defective altruism will never outweigh the safety, the readiness, or the lives of American troops on the battlefield. Their true objective is unmistakable: to seize veto power over the operational decisions of the United States military. That is unacceptable. As President Trump stated on Truth Social, the Commander-in-Chief and the American people alone will determine the destiny of our armed forces, not unelected tech executives. Anthropic’s stance is fundamentally incompatible with American principles. Their relationship with the United States Armed Forces and the Federal Government has therefore been permanently altered. In conjunction with the President's directive for the Federal Government to cease all use of Anthropic's technology, I am directing the Department of War to designate Anthropic a Supply-Chain Risk to National Security. Effective immediately, no contractor, supplier, or partner that does business with the United States military may conduct any commercial activity with Anthropic. Anthropic will continue to provide the Department of War its services for a period of no more than six months to allow for a seamless transition to a better and more patriotic service. America’s warfighters will never be held hostage by the ideological whims of Big Tech. This decision is final.
