It’s been an unwavering journey of persistence and hard work. Somehow through it all, he has never changed. He has stayed true to himself, his faith, and his passion. I’m beyond thankful to the many programs and coaches who see something special in my son. Also to everyone who shows him support and encouragement. Martin County's (@MCHS_BB) Braxton Keathley named MaxPreps Kentucky High School Player of the year. The Junior averaged 33.1 points per game, which was the second highest average in the state.

Averaging over 33+ points per game while shooting 57% from the field, 47+ from three on 113 makes and 86% from the line. He was the only player in Kentucky to be Top 10 in 3 different categories (top 20 in 5 if you include 2’s and 3’s made). He knocked down shots at a high level, created for teammates averaging 4.9 assists per game. He finished with 18 Double-Doubles and 2 Triple-Doubles on the year on his way to leading his team to the best regular season in the 14th or 15th region with only one loss in those regions by (3) points. Grateful he was also elevated to a 4⭐️ ranking as a junior by 247 composite — it’s cool to see the hard work continue to translate. Big thanks to his coaches and everyone that supports and motivates him daily. There’s no easy days in this journey.

LAST-FIRST AAU practice! I wish we were back in 6th grade running the roads back and forth to Nashville again and preparing for tomorrow. Well tomorrow is literally here. We’ve met the best people throughout this aau rollercoaster and we are looking forward to all the new people and opportunities for our last season.

Martin County JR PG Braxton Keathley has wrapped up another elite season of Kentucky HS basketball. (@BraxKeathley) The 2027 4⭐️ has become a nationally known name this year, now being ranked in the top 150, 90, and 40 on 3 separate national rankings. • 33.6p. (2nd in KY) (1st total Pts, 1,060) • 9r. • 4.9a. • 18 Dbl/Dbl’s. 2 Trp/Dbl’s. • 57/47/85. • 113 3PM. (top 5 in KY) Braxton was the only player in Kentucky who finished top 10 in 5 different KHSAA categories. He was also the only player in the state of Kentucky to finish with shooting splits above 55/45/85. High Majors are now consistently involved in his recruitment, including both Kentucky and Louisville. Braxton has a huge AAU season coming up with @2026Ambition and I look for him to continue to rise in the rankings.
