Chief John Drake today announced the MNPD will launch a Drone as First Responder limited trial next Tue with 3 drones based on the roof of the Madison Precinct. They'll respond to emergency calls within a 2 mile radius of the precinct building & will be controlled from HQ.

Earlier this evening, I attended the 2026 State of the Court with Presiding Judge Sergio C. Tapia II.  The Los Angeles County Superior Court is the largest single unified trial court in the United States and serves our community by providing equal access to justice through the fair, timely, and effective resolution of all cases. The State of the Court highlighted the many accomplishments of 2025, which included expanding remote access technology, modernizing courtroom operations, strengthening community outreach, and maintaining essential services. Presiding Judge Tapia II outlined the Superior Courts strategic agenda for 2026 which focused on advancing access to justice for all Los Angeles County Residents.
