Governor on raids

We deserve better! Mayor Bass has repeatedly emphasized the “rapid pace of rebuilding, including issuing permits.” Thousands of homes were destroyed, and yet fewer than 100 building permits have been issued after six months. Does anyone believe this is rapid rebuilding? While the Army Corps did an amazing job clearing the debris, the City has failed to create the expedited permit process it promised. Residents are stuck in endless red tape at City Hall. @steadfastla

Yelling “F you” and “shame on you” to US Marines while waving another country’s flag is beyond sad. About 30% of US Marines are Latino. Most are enlisted (88%) and only have a high school diploma. They are just trying to make ends meet. All volunteered to serve. Whatever side you are on regarding immigration reform, the military is not responsible for the decisions of the President, Congress, the Governor or the Mayor. They are Infantry. They are grunts. I can tell you first hand they are used to getting yelled at and they can take it. But it’s sad that it’s coming from people inside our own country. No matter what your politics are, please respect & support our military. They support you with their lives regardless. Think about that.
