What do you do if your "modern" science communication approaches are criticized? Besides nice/helpful feedback a lot non-content-related feedback discouraged modern presentations. Apperantly, if the presentation isn't presented in the old-white-male style it isn't scientific #ECR

@c_trivellin I second that! It was such a great talk. I always love to run into things I learned in my undergrad ☺️ especially if applied in a different context

A professor of a first-semester class in grad school just recognized me at a conference. Yet, I don't think my bachelor thesis advisor remembers me at all. The relations between professors and students in the US are very different and it seems like Germany still has to learn.

@stefano_beowulf @SynbioMemes Yes that is exactly how I am feeling! I am part of a program that focuses on interdisciplinary science but it still seems hard to find your spot in the community

@LBuecherl I've been seeing this basically every day in the last 5 years of my working life. Unfortunately, I've also seen little appreciation for interdisciplinary people; everyone wants a super-specialist and not a generalist with a view of the big picture...

Is it just me or is there still a little of a disconnect between computational and lab-based #syntheticbiology ? More collaboration could lead to such interesting results! #seed2022

What we all hope is going to be the future of science: a digital paper where all the information is neatly organized, well-annotated, and easy to access. Great software tool workshop at #SEED2022. More scientists should learn this!

The foundation of having a corresponding author in a manuscript is to ask questions/clarifications/materials. What is that they never reply? Why is still not mandatory to deposit plasmids on repositories? Something should be done to enforce replies/sharing.
