@LByamugisha @ug_hummingbird Good question. Retirement is a construct of an industrial age. It's not a real thing when you work for yourself. When you get to a certain level, it's time to give back and create opportunities for the next generation. @ug_hummingbird is opening doors.

When you convert the price to UGX and it suddenly hits you that you are actually not that hungry.

Pastor Garry Skinner once taught us that after sometime people stop listening to what you say. They simply say: “show me your life!” I guess the point we are making is it takes time. A lot of time and you start small even humbly. Here’s my bit: 1. Clerk in University Bursar’s office, Makerere University (2004) 2. Volunteer, Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE), Uganda Chapter. (2004-2008) 3. Intern at Lex Uganda Advocates (2008) 3. Legal Assistant Byenkya, Kihika & co. Advocates (2009) 4. Legal Associate-Senior Associate Byenkya Kihika & Co Advocates (2011-2015) 5. Senior Associate, Kampala Associated Advocates (2016-2018) 6. Associate Partner, Kampala, Associated Advocates (2018-2019) 7. 2019 to date (Owner, Partner-Head Disputes Dentons, Uganda) 8. 2024-In addition to 7 above, joint Head, Litigation Africa region, Dentons. This does not include providing domestic labour which is expected of every child in an African home especially a first born like me. I am really grateful for this experience . When it comes to washing cars, mopping floors, slaughtering and dressing chickens, loading and unloading charcoal & that kind of thing, I was a star. Washing bays as a lifestyle is a middle class acquired taste in this Kampala. I worked as a research assistant for my researcher & academic dad who has 4 degrees and is reading for his second Phd. In 2003, he was doing his first Phd. (When it comes to academic papers, I am a proper family “embarrassment”😉😅) I started my entrepreneurship journey with Breeze pharmacy Mutungo, a retail outlet in 2010, aged 25. (Late bloomer 😅) Grew these to two outlets when I decided to “exit” By the time I was 28, I employed about ten people directly. Been sweating payroll for a long time. 😏 My other business interests are in real estate, software development and agriculture. Social Impact/Community Service: Rotaract (2010-2016 serving as President Rct. Kampala City, Rotaract Chair DCA, 2016), Captain @FastnFurious40 (2023)

@Rukwengye @LByamugisha @BoundlessMinds_ It’s good to see. People growing into positions, constituting them fully and outgrowing them. This is what it means to be boundless. Good luck Byamu

Today we said bye to @LByamugisha, who's been the fulcrum of @BoundlessMinds_ work over the last 4yrs. Ironically, she'd applied to join as a mentee & got rejected. A yr later, joined the team & steered our Programmes to reach over 200mentors & 5000 mentees. We are awed and owed!

My journey at @BoundlessMinds_ for the past 4 years has been incredible, to say the least. I have grown, I have learnt and I have served under the leadership of @Rukwengye Though my journey as Soft Skilling Lead has come to an end, I am forever grateful for believing in me.

Can you imagine that it only takes 100k per term to sponsor a Primary Seven teenage mother or adolescent girl studying in Karamoja? Last year we were able to sponsor as many as 50 girls. This year we go harderrrrr. Would you like to sponsor a girl? #Kikumi #AfricaEducatesHer
