@bottomlineibd Can they cover use of laxatives too. Their seem to be a lot of people taking codeine based pain relief and then using laxatives to stop being constipated. Seems a risky way to keep bowel balance. 🤔

@bottomlineibd I completely agree. Understanding what food is good for you and your condition is part of wholistic care. I often suggest that newly diagnosed #IBD patients keep a food diary (Inc. drink) to map what contributes to flare ups.
If you want help ask to see an #IBD dietitian.

@bottomlineibd You are quite right to encourage IBD patients who have been on long term steroids to get a Dexa scan.
Sadly mine showed I had Oesteoporosis at 40, but at least I had a chance of building a bit of bone mass back 😊

Just had a DEXA scan to check my bone density.
If you're also midlife and have a history of steroid use, I encourage you to request the same!
✅ Arrived early
✅ Seen straight away
✅ Scan took less than 5 mins
✅ Still 5 foot 7 - no shrinkage!

@l_d_hughes @bottomlineibd @KCL I worry about the use of AI in any sort of health care. We have already seen tge rise of telephone appointments with Doctors where care pathways are decided without seeing the patient. AI has a place but not in any sort of health care 🤔

The structure of the working day - and the routine it brings - was vital to me when I was unwell.
