Drylines are somewhat unique among meteorological boundaries in that they are driven by differences in boundary layer mixing rather than differences in density. Here’s an animation I put together showing how that works:

That's too much convection for just a ''non tropical low'' in Alaska right now. Just as the medicane yesterday morning, that's a fully tropical system, with rain bands, eye and eyewall. It's about to landfall somewhere in inhabited areas.
