And if your instinct is to defend an accused perpetrator, remember that you can’t possibly be sure. Especially if you’re a man and the accused person targets women: you’re just about the least likely to know about it

@DusetzinaS Befriend staff esp non-research in academic building. Happened naturally for me & I’m so thankful for friends to go to during long office day to talk as whole persons, share juicy stories, escape for ice cream, receive support, & realize smallness of worries re academic progress

Wasn't sure whether to announce this on Twitter but realized it's the only way for me to thank my letter writers. So... I got tenure! HUGE thank you to the village who made this possible (especially the anonymous ones I can't thank personally -- hope you all see this!)

👇And it’s not only victims that suffer when a man attacks a woman at work: We find other women leave the firm & women are also less likely to be hired into new positions Female managers limit this effect as they’re more likely to fire the perpetrator

I’m pleased to see @VanderbiltU mobilizing a task force including students to research & propose solutions to mitigate effects of the TN abortion ban and to understand effects on the University and state.

I didn’t feel fear that I would end up navigating obtaining an abortion in that setting. I felt the disregard for the circumstances women and people who can become pregnant face. That the TN leg, elected by my community of fellow TN residents, didn’t care about me.

This is exactly what CA colleagues said to me when I was planning to accept a postdoc at Vanderbilt, with other great job options. I went. And they were right. I remember when TN leg passed 6 wk abortion ban & the feeling: This is not my home. I am not welcome to be well here.
Vanderbilt Hustler@VandyHustler

“When women think about where to go to school, they are going to think of TN’s legislation and recognize that they are not afforded the same equal protection of law here in comparison to other states,” Dean Carrie Russell said. vanderbilthustler.com/2022/07/12/fac…
