The three month long training program for 85 numbers of newly recruited Assistant Labour Officers was inaugurated on 9th March,2026. Shri Ganesh Ram Singh khuntia, Hon’ble Minister, Labour & ESI graced the occasion. Smt. Chithra Arumugam, Additional Chief Secretary to Govt., L&ESI Department ,Sri Indramani Tripathy, Labour Commissioner, Odisha DG, GAA, and other senior Officers of the Department as well as the Labour Directorate were present in the occasion. On 17.02.2026, an awareness program was organized by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Boudh, on various issues related to migrant workers at the Community Center, Chandrapur Village, under Telibandh G.P., Boudh Block, District Boudh. The Secretary, DLSA, chaired the meeting. Around 35 labourers were sensitized about the provisions of the Interstate Migrant Workmen Act, 1979. Further awareness was created regarding the various welfare activities provided under the Board. The Jharsuguda District Labour Machinery visited a construction site at Bandhpali under Kirmira Block, where 25 numbers of construction workers were engaged in concrete road construction work. The workers were made aware of the Nirman Shramik Kalyan Yojana (NSKY) and benefits available under the OB&OCWW Board. 8 workers were already registered under the NSKY. A training and awareness campaign on Gender Inclusion and Disaster Risk Reduction was held at Nanjura Village, Mahakalapada Block of Kendrapada District by the District Emergency Office, Kendrapada. The officers of the O/o the Divisional Labour Commissioner, Kendrapada participated in the programme and created awareness on gender inclusion in labour force participation, rights of women workers at the workplace, the POSH Act, safety of workmen and measures to prevent and mitigate disasters at the workplace.
