@Rimbeux @AnfieldSector True, being the backup for Kane will not get you a lot of minutes. Let's hope then that Gordon will prefer possibly being a starter for Liverpool over a rotation player at Bayern.

@LFCSPLO @AnfieldSector BM do seem to take a pride in not having to sell players, just keep them through prime then don’t renew when time is up. Also that thing with Kane in needing someone v good behind who only starts 5-10 a season if that’s all they do. Hard to recruit & manage players for that

[🟢] NEW: Liverpool will make signing at least one winger a priority this summer, after Mohamed Salah’s departure, and Anthony Gordon’s versatility in playing multiple positions across the front line also appeals to them. The RB Leipzig teenager Yan Diomande features prominently on Liverpool’s list of targets as they gear up for a key summer. [@_pauljoyce] Comment from me: Barcelona are currently leading the race for Anthony Gordon in an £80m deal.

@Rimbeux @AnfieldSector Fair enough, that does make sense! I still think that they will target either someone younger than Gordon or two players instead of one for both positions. But maybe that's me hoping because I rate Gordon a lot and would love to see him at Liverpool.

@LFCSPLO @AnfieldSector Bayern likely looking at Kane turning 33 in a few weeks & not having a rotation option for him, so Gordon is better value than likes of Jackson or Woltemade ax he also competes with Diaz?

@Rimbeux @AnfieldSector Of course clubs of this calibre being interested is not bringing down the price itself but I doubt that Bayern are actually interested and also careful with spending such fees and Barcelona already passed on Rashford staying as it wasn't financially lucrative enough.

@DKingTelegraph Slot certainly doesn't debate his decisions or the criticism he gets in a healthy way. This fanbase wasn't toxic when we had a great manager making us believe in his style of football. So what actually can't continue is Slot being the manager of this club.

✍🏻 Goodbye to 2025/26, Liverpool’s most toxic season in a generation. There used to be a time when situations could be debated and criticisms could be listened to; now it’s simply unrelenting fury. It can’t continue telegraph.co.uk/football/2026/…

@AnfieldEdition @DKingTelegraph Are they really trying to frame it as foreign influence? As if there's a conspiracy against Slot? I can't with these fellas. Slot will be gone by November, Hughes is already learning Arabic and Edwards will always be remembered as a fraud who couldn't make it without Klopp.

🥇| @DKingTelegraph: "Online fury [about Slot] has been stoked by fans. Some have accounts with significant follower numbers, and put out misinformation consistently. Many of these accounts have a tagline in their biographies reading “powered by Rainbet”, a gambling firm that is restricted from UK trading."

@lfcshann You gotta be kidding me! Not even hating Salah and Jones would explain that reaction as YOUR team just scored a goal basically confirming CL football for YOUR team. Surely he knows he has to go? Otherwise, what the fuck is this reaction?

Arne Slot reaction to Liverpools goal is non existent meanwhile Klopp would’ve torn a hamstring, lost his cap and hugged three stewards after that goal.

@elite_balltakes Klopp took a team without Alisson to the CL final with inspiring football. He already made us believe in him and the team without the two. Slot on the other side has us play the most uninspiring football in years and lets us doubt him every fucking game...

🚨| @foot_01: Liverpool have expressed regret at letting Tyler Morton leave last summer and have shown interest in resigning the midfielder. Although Lyon regard the 23-year-old as untouchable, they must raise at least €20m to comply with financial regulations in France.

Arne Slot on Ollie Watkins’ comments after the Aston Villa game: “I think he said that we were playing with a high-line. So that means we play a certain style of football that must be then quite offensive because if you go to a low-block that is probably a defensive style of play but that’s not something to be proud of to have playing with a high-line. He adds to that he thought that could give him a lot of chances and I already said that we conceded far too many goals and one of the reasons is what Ollie Watkins said when we hold a high-line it is not always been safe enough, it is not always been the way of us to defend the other team to get a chance or a goal. These are things that I didn’t hear for the first time and I saw these things as well. As I said, we want to find the right balance in the style of football I would like us to play and the fans would like us to play. That’s obviously and clearly not going into a low-block for 90 mins of the game but it is definitely not positive that such a good striker says after a game that he fancied that game because he felt it could be a game he could get a lot of chances. That’s what I mean we have to evolve and not completely change because of where the league has got to. Take that into account but definitely also keep the same brand and style of play.”

@AnfieldSector This lad is talking about a style of football that fits both him and the fanbase and how he admires PSG (who are one of the best pressing sides in Europe) but then sets his team up like an even more cowardly and worse version of Arteta. But a new winger will change everything...

Arne Slot: “We have to understand that we will, you must never copy a team completely, but you have take into account where football evolves to but also try to play own brand and style of football that fits me but also fits our fanbase. We have to evolve this team coming into next season. Evolving it by also doing one or two things in the transfer window so we can get closer to the brand of football we want to play. But definitely also closer to competing with the new reality that the Premier League has become a different style of play than three, four, five, and six years ago.”

@Anish4LFC @AnfieldSector Isak played 22 games / 1032 minutes this season which means that he had around 45 minutes per game for us. That's definitely not ideal but still relevant. And in these 1032 minutes, what gave you the feeling that Slot knows how to get the best out of him? Bullshit comment...

I think at this point we’ve just got to accept it and move on. They’re clearly backing him, so all we can do now is hope things change next season. No point going on about it all summer. Strengthen the squad properly and hopefully we’ll be back up there.
