March 1920: ‘The Coalition Plot’ “A secret meeting was held by Coalition Liberal MP’s. Winston Churchill advocated ‘fusion’ with the Tories - Lloyd George favoured ‘closer Co-operation’ and adoption of a common name”. Meeting raised suspicion in Liberal circles! (Lib. Magazine)

At last. My final "academic" book. Big thanks to @LGA_Tony. Historians are the keepers of lost souls. We find ourselves getting to know someone lost to history and our publications bring them back in some way, for one brief moment. Lt.Col. Scovell it's been an honour.

In 1981 John Craven interviewed me for BBC1 Swap Shop as I visited all 92 League clubs. His signed photo read: "We'll film you again when you have done all the Non-League clubs!" Now 45 years later John Craven has interviewed me for a BBC report ahead of my last Non-League ground

20 March 1966. The football World Cup was stolen from an exhibition at Central Hall, London. The £30,000 solid gold Jules Rimet trophy disappeared while a church service was taking place in another part of the building. It was later found by a dog called Pickles and his owner.

Dublin, waiting for the bus to the airport car park. A couple of wet wheelchairs waited in the bus hoarding. Sat down in one and sprang up when the bus came. ‘A miracle!’ shouts the driver.  Only in Ireland.
