This tracks with reporting out of Manchester United on CMs, Laurie Whitwell said yesterday that the club are working on personal terms with players so they can move quickly when the time comes. I'm not a huge Ederson fan. There's better value in the market, particularly for a player turning 27 in July with a year left on his deal for £40m. I can see the logic in the move for him as the 3rd CM, here's why. While primarily an #8, he can also play #6 & #10. He can carry the ball forward but able to sit in for his pivot partner. Retains possessions, wins it back & recovers it at high volume. His role versatility is valuable. I'd rather see what happens with the combination of the three midfielders then go crazy overreacting.
