@RealHickory I'd be willing to sacrifice Victoria Spartz's representation in the U.S. Congress for this natural born rule to be in place across all federal elected offices. Get rid of these America haters. Spartz only gets about a C+ rating from me anyway, there's room for improvement.

@JeanneIves District here in Indiana where I live now did a similar thing. 1. Previous referendum from years ago added to property taxes was expiring. Added taxes go to $0. 2. New referendum claiming "lower taxes" passes. Lower compared to previous referendum. More than $0 like it was.

Just got our property tax bill. CUSD200 promised an average decrease of $71 even with the passage of their massive $151M referendum. The money is for repairs the district neglected to plan for and for middle school performing arts centers which are a complete waste of money. Instead of a decrease or even just the same as last year, our D200 taxes are up $199. Even if our home is above average, this increase is off by a long-shot compared to what they said. Because when they say your tax will be less, they don't actually mean it will be less than you paid last year. They only mean it will be lesser than the higher amount they plan to tax you at anyway. It's public school math and it always favors the district. Meanwhile, Gov. DeSantis is taking steps to phase out property taxes for homeowners and Indiana homeowners have a hard cap on their property taxes of 1% of the home value. Our taxes are 1.96% of the value - nearly double what we would pay in IN. So, in light of the big Mega Project/Bears deal being made in Springfield right now, we must demand that if the Bears and other large developers get a 40-year tax freeze than we do to. Enough is Enough.

@JBPritzker You're not SUPPOSED to live on minimum wage. That's not what its intentions are. If you want to earn enough to live on, get a job/career that pays that. If you're just making summer cash to replenish the bank account for when school starts up again, minimum wage works.

$7.25 an hour is about $14,000 a year. No one can survive on that. People can barely survive on double that. We raised the minimum wage in Illinois. It's long overdue everywhere else.

@GatesGarciaFL The other issue here is that, even if we DO ask questions of those making claims, we're called fascists, racists, bigots, etc. for even asking "is that true?"

Gen-Z may be the first generation in history that doesn’t have to ask questions to get answers. And that’s not a technological achievement—it’s a cultural tradeoff. For most of human history, knowledge required pursuit. You had to wonder, wrestle, and seek. Questions were the gateway to understanding. Today, the gateway is gone. Open a phone, scroll for thirty seconds, and you’re flooded with answers—opinions, explanations, “truths”—often to questions you never even asked. That shift carries consequences. If you never practice asking questions, you lose the instinct to do it. Curiosity doesn’t disappear overnight—it erodes. Slowly, subtly. You begin to accept information instead of interrogating it. And once that happens, the ability to discern what’s true and what’s nonsense starts to weaken. Because asking the right question is just as important as finding the right answer. A generation that doesn’t know how to ask, “Is this true?” or “What’s missing here?” becomes a generation that can be told anything. That’s where the current media environment thrives. Podcasts, influencers, viral clips—they can say almost anything with confidence, and it sticks. Not because it’s right, but because no one is trained to push back. The danger isn’t that Gen-Z lacks intelligence. It’s that they’re being conditioned out of intellectual engagement. And without that engagement, accountability disappears. If no one is asking questions, no one is demanding proof. If no one is demanding proof, bad ideas spread unchecked. And if bad ideas spread unchecked, culture drifts—not toward truth, but toward whatever is loudest, simplest, and most repeatable. The solution isn’t less technology. It’s better habits. @JeremyDBoreing

@yesnicksearcy I'm finding that those who associate with some Christian denomination can generally be assumed to be of one political ideology based on how closely their denomination teaches from the Bible. Generally speaking, conservatives read and follow the Bible, liberals do not.

@JamieMetzl @LawrenceGostin "This terrible pandemic." It's impossible to have a conversation about anything related to "COVID-19" when one party starts from the position that it was a novel, risk-additive, deadly, highly contagious, spreading person-to-person rapidly around the world virus. It was fraud.

@LawrenceGostin I’m a huge fan of yours, Larry, but I respectfully disagree. Understanding the origin of this terrible pandemic is an important part of preparing for the next one. Having said that, the #COVID19 origins search process must be data driven and not politicized.

David Morens’ indictment shows why, under Trump, it’s hard to disentangle political motives from actions in service of justice. He was grossly unethical. But this smacks of selective political prosecution, full of conspiracy theories and grievances about Covid origins.

If you're not a bot, you're literally and seriously brainwashed. You given up your internal discernment for external faith in a book. You sold your soul. You don't even know who you really are. Stop praying for discernment because that's a scam and take it back and start using it.

I'll probably get clobbered for this, but here goes: Please, can everyone, right or left, MAGA or anti-MAGA, Republican or Democrat, stop catastrophizing and trying to get everyone on your side worked up into a rage? It's not Flight 93. We're not on the verge of fascism. We do not need to take desperate measures. Our fellow citizens with whom we disagree are not devils incarnate or personifications of evil. We need to argue with our political adversaries--passionately perhaps--but with respect for their humanity and dignity. We don't need to destroy them. That mustn't be our aim. We all say we believe in democracy. Good! But democracy is all about persuading, giving reasons, engaging one another as fellow citizens, despite our disagreements. Let's rebuild civic friendship. We can do this. (Thank you for your attention to this matter.)

It’s so funny because this is exactly what Dems said would happen to conservatives: they’d become radicalized by the internet and act out violently. They used that fear to justify the Censorship Industrial Complex. Turns out it was libs who were having their brains 🧠 boiled.

@StopUnlifingUs @DNelson135 @McCormickProf As an ultimate goal, yes. But cake doesn't just appear out of nothing. There are ingredients that are needed and that need to be prepared, mixed, and baked to get it. Love and unity doesn't spring forth between two people when one is actively trying to kill the other.

@StopUnlifingUs @DNelson135 @McCormickProf Self awareness, an admission of wrong, acceptance of reality, and a desire to change on the part of leftists would suffice. Love and unity would be about steps 71 and 72 on the list.

You fell for the divide and conquer psyop. The slave masters done tricked the slaves into fighting eqch others instead of freeing themselves. You’re just as brainwashed as the other side. You’re an NPC. Not an authentic human being. Fuck you and fuck the division you are pushing. You are literally the problem. You. The person posting incitement of division and hate. You. What emotions do you expect people to feel after reading this? Love and unity?

Thanking God that everyone at the White House Correspondents Dinner is OK and the would-be assassin was taken down before he could hurt anyone. Including Daily Wire’s own WONDERFUL editor-in-chief, Brent Scher who is currently being evacuated along with the other attendees. This may very well have been the third serious attempt on President Trump’s life. Perhaps even now Democrats and members of the media will consider how they speak of this president.
