BREAKING CONFIRMATION: Second F-15E Crewmember Rescued In Iran, Extraction Team Exfiltrated Safely After Massive Firefight cdm.press/news/middle-ea…
English

@PostOpinions @MaxBoot I will make it clear using simple logic - they were fired or sidelined because they were not doing their jobs well enough and so they are being replaced.
English

"Hegseth’s most corrosive actions have been to fire or sideline more a dozen senior admirals and generals without making clear why," @MaxBoot writes. wapo.st/41LRYQB

@omriceren Someone had to write the story, write the headline, get approval from an editor, and finally, set it up for printing.
No one at the @nytimes is competent.

@sissenberg @nytimes A correction will appear in tomorrow's print edition: "A headline with an article on Friday about President Trump’s threats to leave NATO misstated the full name of the body. It is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, not the North American Treaty Organization."

@NYTimesPR @sissenberg @nytimes Someone had to write that headline, someone had to approve it, and someone had to set it up for printing... so none of you clowns caught this fkup.

@TheAtlantic @RadioFreeTom I understand this was published in @TheAtlantic, but this is a laughable argument even by the low standards of @RadioFreeTom.
English

“Dumping the Army chief of staff in the middle of a war, without explanation, is a reckless move even by Hegseth’s standards,” @RadioFreeTom argues: theatln.tc/BLCvafwZ

@nicksortor We don’t even have to leave NATO, just be like the Europeans and stop paying our dues.

🚨 JUST IN: Rep. Ronny Jackson is UNLOADING on European “allies” for flat-out REFUSING to honor their NATO commitment
It’s WAY past time for the U.S. to leave NATO
“We've GOT to be careful because we share our intelligence with them, we arm them, and share our weapon systems with them.
At some point we have to RETHINK that, because things are RAPIDLY changing in Europe—and not for the best.”

@WeDemandJustice Say the exact same thing about every judge appointed by any president or any party. Whose paying for this campaign?
English

TODAY: Demand Justice is launching a $3 million campaign to oppose Trump's next Supreme Court nominee before one is even named.
This isn't a drill. Trump is obsessed with the Supreme Court, and knows there's a real chance Democrats win the Senate in November. And if that happens, Justices Thomas and Alito would be in their 80's by the time any future Republican president could replace them. Trump wants the Court's allegiance, and he will act this year. The only question is whether we're ready.
Along with our partners at Indivisible, we're taking action.
The campaign will unite veterans from across the progressive ideological spectrum, coordinating grassroots support to push back against likely nominees even before a vacancy is announced.
All 37 of Trump's confirmed judicial nominees this term have refused to say who won the 2020 election or what happened on January 6th. Every single one retreats to the same rehearsed, evasive non-answers, peddling Trump's Big Lie. That's the preview of who he'll put on the Supreme Court.
Trump doesn't want someone loyal to the Constitution. He wants someone loyal to him and his billionaire friends, someone he trusts to peddle his Big Lie about the 2020 election, and someone who will protect him from accountability, from prosecution, and from the legal consequences of his authoritarianism.
Republicans spent 40 years treating the courts as a political project: they poured money into the effort, built the infrastructure, and won. Democrats must treat the prospect of Trump filling more Supreme Court vacancies as the grave threat it is.

This is not "defeatism," it's defeat. America Lost. Iran Won. Trump Shat the Bed. open.substack.com/pub/thebulwark…

@ProfMJCleveland I wouldn't be surprised if the Iranian military or internal security forces destroy all the Kharg Island facilities as a last act of vengeance before the regime is wiped out.
So it seems doomed either way.

@nicksortor "Leftists are SCREECHING..." could start 50 different news stories every day. That's simply the leftists standard mode of operation.
English

@CollinRugg I can think of one big reason he shouldn't think of running for office - he's a clown and everyone knows it.
English

@nicksortor I will be seriously disappointed when the squish, conservative in name only, justices punt on this issue and birthright tourism survives.

@Doranimated When did Tucker come off the rails? So fast and so far off the rails?
English

Netanyahu, the longest serving PM in Israel’s history, has led his country through a 3-year war that involved managing the hostile Biden admin and negotiating through the maze of Israeli domestic politics. He is a towering figure on the global stage. He is anything but weak.

Benjamin Netanyahu is fundamentally weak at the core.

ICE guards are betting on which detainee will kill themselves next. The AP just exposed the savage conditions of a detention camp in El Paso.
The Associated Press got inside Camp East Montana. What they found should be on the front page of every newspaper in this country until it closes.
About 3,000 people packed in per day. Loud, unsanitary quarters crawling with insects. Food so scarce that detainees steal from each other just to eat. Disease spreading through filthy rooms, showers, and restrooms that go uncleaned. People losing weight. People unable to see a doctor. People losing their minds.
Staff made nearly one 911 call per day in the camp's first five months. One call captures a man sobbing after being assaulted by another detainee. Another has a doctor describing a man banging his head against a wall while expressing suicidal thoughts.
A nurse calls about a pregnant woman in severe pain with coronavirus. Detainees suffering seizures, some resulting in serious head trauma. Ages ranged from a 19-year-old who fell from a bunk to a 79-year-old who couldn't breathe.
And then there's the detail that should haunt this administration for the rest of its existence.
Owen Ramsingh, a former property manager from Columbia, Missouri, who spent weeks in the camp before being deported to the Netherlands, told the AP he overheard a security guard talking about a betting pool among the staff. They were wagering on which detainee would be next to die by suicide. The guard said he had put $500 in. The total pot rode on the outcome.
Ramsingh said the talk was particularly devastating because he had contemplated suicide himself.
Guards are gambling on the deaths of people in their custody. People who are hungry. People who are sick. People who are begging for help through 911 calls that come in every single day. And the staff turned it into a game.
This is not some rogue facility. This is the system working exactly as this administration designed it. Overcrowded by policy. Underfed by neglect. Understaffed by choice. They built a place where human beings deteriorate and then the people paid to watch over them place bets on who breaks first.
The AP has the data. The recordings. The interviews. The court filings. This is documented. This is real. This is happening right now in El Paso, Texas, in the United States of America.
Share this. Do not let them bury it under another news cycle.

@nicksortor I predict a 10 second delay before the first federal judge files a TRO stopping this order.

@nicksortor Next step, bankrupt the companies that hired them. Make them pay.
