It wasn't a one-off, these two appear to be housemates. The camera showed them going in and out all night and finally going to bed at 5.20 and 5.26 (amazingly the camera changed from dark to light in those 6 minutes!). @HedgehogCabin - this is the first time we've seen sharing 🤎

We thought this hedgehog box was empty and wanted to check before cleaning it and repositioning it... So glad we moved a camera to face the box entrance tonight to check, just to make sure! 🦔🦔🤎🤎 #hedgehogs

Aw, I'm so sorry, Annie. I know it's such a worry. But no, killing is never the answer. Yes, although omnivores, the rats' main preference is grain, so bird and poultry feeding will attract them. If you feel you can, please have a gentle word with your neighbour, and advise them that they are causing a rat problem. If you can't do this, contact your local council's environmental health team. They will keep you anonymous, and will visit your neighbour and advise them on keeping and feeding chickens,and other important health considerations. As for your garden, you need to make it a scary dangerous place for rats, and to do this you need to exploit their one weakness - neophobia. If you follow the advice below, you will soon have a rat-free garden your hedgehogs can enjoy.🥰

Help @HedgehogCabin I have rats now in the garden (probably due to a neighbour keeping chickens) they are now showing themselves in the day, so their numbers might be growing. How can I protect the hedgehogs if I set rat traps 😬 thinking of using an electric one.

Lovely weather, isn't it?🌞 Unless you're a nocturnal animal who has to sleep all through the hot day, and wake at night to find no water. No puddles. No kind dishes. Unseen. Unthought of. Just the tantalising smell of water from a pond you may drown in, or a drain you may get trapped in, or a stagnant, dirty old birdbath you may get fatal fluke from. Hedgehogs need to drink a lot of water to stay healthy. Please provide clean, fresh, safe ground level water for our precious wildlife. Tap water is best. Pop a dish or two out tonight. Keep it clean. Keep it full. Keep it saving lives.❤️

We spent the last week visiting Dubrovnik, Mostar and Sarajevo, and what we saw there will stay with us forever. How could it not? Our visits to the Museum of War Childhood & the Museum of Crimes Against Humanity were heartbreaking but so important to keep sharing & remembering.

Yesterday, without football, was the perfect time to do something positive at Tonbridge's grimmest roundabout! We saw up close just how heartbreakingly dangerous littering is to the innocent wildlife living alongside us. Litter kills! @KeepBritainTidy

@HedgehogCabin We are honestly so happy! We don't recognise her, so that's also a good sign (our last two regular females had distinctive dark facial markings!) We've just topped up the bowls and moved cameras into prime positions and are looking forward to the morning footage review!

A lesson in patience! We've not had a hedgehog sighting since September 😭 but all through winter left out fresh water and biscuits, just in case, and the magpies & blackbird have polished them off. We just had a sudden urge to check last night's footage... 🤎🤎 @HedgehogCabin

Eid Mubarak - we're always quite sad when Ramadan ends. It's been such a busy month. We've got new neighbours this year who've been bringing food over for us, which has been amazing on so many levels - and great to share ours too! Our litter picking mission continues! #EidMubarak

@HippieKillerBoB @Hazzy2_0 We weren't quite sure, but it was very sweet and crunchy (and we Googled - it's called Jalebi) - we're half Egyptian and our neighbours are from Bangladesh, so two very different cuisines! We took them some baklava our mum has made for the first time ever!

My neighbours are a Muslim couple, tommorow is eid, every year on eid (and more times inbetween) she brings food round, and sweets for owen, she's class! Eid Mubarak ✌🏼
