@JHBirch @0xSammy Are you seeing this gap in today’s homeschoolers? I think we saw some social gaps in OG homeschoolers because social options were limited. Now there’s a homeschool version of everything (prom, sports, etc) so no limitations, fewer gaps.

@0xSammy Not against homeschooling per se but always notice a huge social skills / development gap in those that were homeschooled Are parents not worried about this factor or do they simply make up for it in other ways?

A growing number of top AI researchers are homeschooling their children Not out of ideology, but because they believe the current education system will not prepare them for a world shaped by AI and robotics Education must now be designed in reverse: start from the skills the future demands, and build backwards Otherwise, we risk making our childrens’ skillsets obsolete before they even enter the workforce

@jongraves2120 @JeremyTate41 @Sachinettiyil To be fair, it would probably tend to be homeschoolers for whom homeschooling wasn't working that would transfer into a school setting, hence traditional teachers teaching formerly homeschooled students would get a large sample size of mostly struggling homeschoolers.

I know homeschool parents who spend less than 3 hours a day “doing school” and their kids test several grades above age level. The kids spend their time building forts, caring for animals, playing instruments, helping out around the house/farm, and reading books for fun.

It takes a certain level of “I don’t care” attitude about others and their pressures to do this, though. We had six, and the most vocal in the “aren’t you done yet?” group was our own family. It’s never lonely at home, but it can be isolating in some areas of society. I hope we change that.

Always bums me out when the best people purposely stop at 2 kids. You're going to stop now??? When you are just getting good at it???? It's not time to quit, It's time to go pro.

Love how the 2yr old willfully refuses to be fully toilet trained. She has resorted to dragging the kitchen stepladder into her bedroom, getting the nighttime pullups off the shelf in her closet, putting diapers on herself, pooping in them, removing them, wiping herself with heated baby wipes, rolling it all up & placing in the diaper pail, laying down on the rug & putting powder on herself, then putting on a fresh diaper

@AniseNot A big bowl of M&Ms worked here. There's very little I couldn't accomplish with my stubborn sugar-crazy firstborn using artificial flavors and colors.

Here's the thing about homeschooling that no one tells you: The messy, chaotic, real parts of life? Those ARE the education. Your kid learns: • Patience (waiting rooms) • Money management (grocery shopping) • Problem-solving (when plans fall apart) • Social skills (real conversations with real people) • Time management (watching you juggle work and life) Traditional school tries to separate "education" from "real life." Homeschooling embraces the beautiful chaos of doing both at once. Stop pretending you aren't doing life while homeschooling. Life is WHERE the learning happens.

@SherriKEdman We started drinking coffee as toddlers when my Danish grandma made us “children’s coffee” with cream and sugar. We grew up thinking anything but black coffee was for babies. I occasionally drink lattes but consider them dessert.

My 20yo son comes downstairs every day, pours a 20 ounce mug brim full of black coffee, lets it cool just a moment, and then flat foots it in the middle of the kitchen without taking a breath. Mug goes in the sink. And he’s done. This is not my preferred method of coffee intake, but it does amuse me.

I humbly recommend to young people to try drinking black coffee without any bells and whistles. It’s cheaper — and once you get used to it you will not want to add in all the other stuff.

@CatholicCharm Worse when you have chickens and kids. My chickens get up so early now. So getting kids to do chores are a nightmare, until winter changes that.

• Skip lessons that don't fit • Go slower or faster than the "schedule" • Replace worksheets with real-life application • Mix and match from different programs You're not breaking the rules. You're making education work FOR your child, not against them. #HomeschoolFreedom

The huge benefit of homeschooling is the ability to customize learning. If you're just checking boxes but your kid hates learning, you're missing the whole point. Give yourself permission to...

@momslop My parents used to ask if I was sick when I stopped wearing it. But my husband literally cannot tell the difference because I wear so little to being with. Gloss and mascara only on made up days.

I've been thinking about quitting makeup lately. it's an extra expense, I go without more than with these days, and it's toxic this morning was the first I made a real decision to go without, and my first interaction was an old man looking at me and laughing, "YOU LOOK TIRED!!"

@CCPISASSH0E Don’t know how well it works but I got one of these at an estate sale and reviews say it’s adequate. Other than that. Cold water after boiling. Good luck!

I’ve asked Grok. I’ve googled. Someone please tell me your great grandma has a fool proof method for peeling hard boiled eggs that actually works, because I’m ready to chuck all 12 of these against a wall at this point

The parents of Recess kids are shockingly impressive There are Nuclear Physicists from Los Alamos, Partners at big Law Firms, Professors at good universities, Founders of $1b+ startups, Senior Engineers at Nvidia Somehow, we are underplaying this in our branding/marketing
