THE TRUMP EFFECT: The USA just lost to Belgium in the World Cup Round of 16 by a score of 4-1, right after Trump personally called FIFA to clear star striker Balogun to play.
Sports fans are calling it the Trump curse.
He attended the Super Bowl and predicted a Chiefs win, but the Eagles blew them out.
He was there when the Commanders hosted the Lions and lost at home.
He watched from a suite as Miami fell in the College Football National Championship.
He sat in the owner’s suite when the Knicks snapped their huge playoff streak in NBA Finals Game 3.
And he attended the Ryder Cup where Europe topped the US team.

Congrats to Coach Legans.

Portland coach Shantay Legans has signed a multi-year extension, source told @TheFieldOf68. Well-deserved at a tough job. Turned a program that won 1 conference game in the prior 3 seasons before he arrived into being competitive in league - with a win over Gonzaga last year.

Zamir “Bam” Paschal
Position: Guard
Height: 6'1"
Class: 2026
School: Central Catholic (OR)
Zamir Paschal, the No. 1 junior in Oregon, had a standout performance at the City of Palms Classic, showcasing a well-rounded skill set that makes him a top prospect in the 2026 class. Offensively, Paschal’s ability to push the pace in transition was one of his key strengths. His speed allowed him to create fast-break opportunities, often outrunning defenders and finishing with smooth, controlled layups around the rim. While he doesn’t always finish with authority, Paschal’s body control and touch in the paint were impressive. He demonstrated a knack for absorbing contact and finishing efficiently with soft, high-arching layups or floaters, showing his composure under pressure.
In the half-court, Paschal’s ability to score around the basket continued to shine. His quick first step and strength allowed him to blow by defenders and get to the rim with ease. Once in the painted area, he displayed solid finishing ability, using a combination of finesse and body control to score against bigger defenders. His ball-handling and court awareness allowed him to navigate through traffic and make plays for himself and his teammates. Beyond attacking the basket, Paschal also showcased his shooting touch from the outside. His three-point shooting was a key component of his game, as he knocked down shots with consistency, forcing defenders to respect his range and spread out defenses. This versatility in scoring—whether driving to the basket or knocking down perimeter shots—made him an unpredictable offensive threat.
On the defensive end, Paschal’s quickness, anticipation, and basketball IQ were key factors in his success. He excelled at reading the game and playing the passing lanes, consistently jumping in front of passes to create steals. His ability to disrupt offensive flow and generate turnovers was evident throughout the tournament, and these steals often led to easy fast-break opportunities for his team. On-ball, Paschal used his quickness to stay in front of ball handlers, denying easy penetration and pressuring opposing players into difficult shots. His strength also played a role defensively, as he was able to hold his ground and challenge shots in the paint. Whether contesting shots at the rim or fighting through screens to stay attached to his man, Paschal proved to be a solid defensive presence.
In all, Paschal’s combination of offensive versatility and defensive intensity makes him a well-rounded two-way player capable of impacting the game in multiple ways. His ability to score efficiently at the rim, stretch the floor with his three-point shooting, and disrupt opponents defensively solidifies him as one of the top players in his class. His performance at the City of Palms Classic not only displayed his talents but also his potential to make an immediate impact at the next level, with his speed, strength, and high basketball IQ continuing to elevate his stock as a top prospect in the 2026 class.

@aigwiwownsbdv Just give you bit of grief. 😄 Donovan Rivers could be serviceable as a big. We still have to spots open so maybe staff will find someone. I would also like to get true PG!
