CALLING ALL LIBERTARIANS! One of our biggest petitioning opportunities for ballot access is coming up soon! Our Governor candidate, Ken Krawchuk, will need 5,000 signatures to get on the ballot for November. A prime opportunity to collect is on Primary Day, May 19th. Anyone of any voter registration can sign our petitions and if we collect at the polls, we can guaranty they are registered voters. It is a low effort and easy way to ensure our place on the ballot. If you want to help get Libertarians on the ballot, email elections@lppa.org and we will send a copy of a petition for your area!

I'm happy to announce I've gotten the endorsement of probably the most light hearted and fun caucus in the LP Opossums are great creatures, there's one that lives under a shed in my yard in the winters They eat ticks, are immune to rabies, and are North America's only marsupial

A musket from 1776 can fire a lead ball at a velocity of around 1,000 feet per second. Imagine what that can do to a human body. Yet under federal and most state laws, it’s exempt from gun regulations. Many antique or replica guns aren’t considered firearms and even convicted felons can own them.

On this day, May 14th, 1948, Israel declared independence, triggering the 1948 Arab-Israeli War as neighboring states attacked immediately. This event reshaped the Middle East and drew the U.S. into long-term involvement. It highlighted how new states can spark regional conflicts with global repercussions. The Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania critiques U.S. role in conflicts tied to Israel not in our national interest, including the latest war in Iran, advocating for non-intervention. We believe American taxpayers should not fund foreign wars against the will of the people. Let's end entanglements for peace at home.

On this day, May 14th, 1804, the Lewis and Clark expedition began from Camp Dubois, exploring the Louisiana Territory peacefully through trade and mapping rather than conquest. This journey, commissioned by Jefferson, expanded knowledge and commerce without war. It exemplified American ingenuity and peaceful expansion. The Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania contrasts this with modern empire, advocating for non-intervention in foreign affairs. Let's prioritize trade over military adventurism.

On this day, May 14th, 1800, Congress recessed to move the federal government and capital from Philadelphia to Washington, D.C., centralizing power in a new planned city away from population centers. This relocation distanced lawmakers from constituents, fostering a culture of insulated bureaucracy. It marked the beginning of D.C.'s growth into a hub of federal authority. The Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania critiques D.C.’s growth, tying it to modern bureaucratic excess that burdens taxpayers. We advocate for decentralization to restore responsiveness. Let's reduce the capital's dominance for liberty.

Wrong. Most Pennsylvanians don’t want to navigate a patchwork of gun control & wonder if they’ll be a criminal whenever they cross a county line. If only you were interested in talking & not making law-abiding Pennsylvanians criminals. Looking forward to watching these go into the trash heap.

Yep, most Americans agree that it’s long past time to have a conversation about reasonable firearm restrictions.

🚨 ATTENTION PENNSYLVANIA GUN OWNERS: Radical House Dems are trying to turn the Keystone State into a "crazy checkerboard" of legal booby traps. HB 2505 & HB 2506 would DESTROY firearms preemption and bankrupt the industry with frivolous lawsuits. GOA told the @DailyCaller: “Both of these bills... would create a patchwork quilt of gun control laws across Pennsylvania ensnaring law-abiding gun owners, and it would open up the floodgates for municipalities to sue the firearms industry out of existence.” We can't let them dismantle our God-given rights. 🛑 @PAHouseGOP @PaHouseDems dailycaller.com/2026/05/12/pen…

On this day, May 13th, 1989, students in Tiananmen Square began a hunger strike demanding democracy in China, a brave act of defiance that drew global attention before the eventual massacre. This protest highlighted the universal desire for freedom against authoritarian control. It inspired movements worldwide despite brutal suppression. The Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania celebrates defiance, critiquing modern authoritarianism that crushes dissent. We see parallels in current crackdowns on protest. Let's support those fighting for liberty everywhere.

On this day, May 13th, 1985, Philadelphia police bombed the MOVE headquarters, killing 11 people including children and destroying 61 homes in a violent overreaction to a local dispute. This incident, involving helicopters and gunfire, exposed excessive force by law enforcement against a counterculture group. It remains a stark example of state aggression against citizens. The Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania critiques state violence, pushing for decentralized policing to prevent such atrocities. We advocate for accountability in law enforcement. Let's reform to protect communities from government excess.

On this day, May 13th, 1846, the U.S. declared war on Mexico over a disputed Texas border, launching the Mexican-American War and seizing vast territories in a clear war of conquest. This conflict, opposed by figures like Lincoln, expanded U.S. land but at the cost of thousands of lives. It reflected imperial ambitions under Manifest Destiny. The Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania critiques this war of choice, advocating for diplomacy over expansion. We see echoes in modern territorial disputes. Let's reject conquest for peaceful relations.

On this day, May 12th, 2015, a train derailment in Philadelphia killed 8 and injured over 200, highlighting inadequate infrastructure maintenance and safety oversight under government-regulated rail. This tragedy exposed flaws in Amtrak's operations and regulatory failures. It underscored how state involvement can lead to preventable disasters. The Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania critiques state failures, advocating for private solutions to improve safety and efficiency. We believe competition drives better outcomes. Let's privatize rail to prevent future tragedies.
