@GrapefruitBasil @JohnCassidy It’s way less entertaining than Bryson or any of the other big hitters. Props to Rai, but we don’t need more of that style if you want golf to be fun to watch

Massive props to Aaron Rai on winning his first major championship. Thoroughly deserved. He was the best golfer in the world today, by far. (1/n) Also very good for golf for numerous reasons: 1. A straight hitter, not overly long off tee, beat the bomb-and-gouge merchants.

I agree it was boring. Everybody saying they don’t like that big names can bomb and gauge all day until they can’t bomb and gauge and it’s boring bc no fairway means no scoring. Tougher course is just less entertaining to the majority
Derek Blume@doc_blume

This PGA Championship is unwatchable. The course setup is absolutely horrible...no risk-reward, no real scoring holes...just par after par without any drama. Nothing with this setup really allows the best in the world to separate from the rest. As a result any random guy can win

Nobody is asking for money. It was over 5 years ago. Have already said will not put the players on blast on here who feel that way. Do you not understand.. There’s no release clause. You sign the contract in Sept the year prior to even playing & then are stuck. Most let you out. The Bananas did not. They forced their players to stay & make TikTok videos when could have had better opportunities for their careers. Nothing illegal about it, but that’s what happened.

Still mind-blown people pay to watch this. Never forget Banana Ball was built on the backs of college players in a college summer ball league where they were forced to do weird TikTok’s or they didn’t play. The yellow suit guy forgot to mention that.

Imagine being 80 years old and having the opportunity to spend one day as your 40 year told self: Your kids are young, all living at home and full of energy. Begging you to play and spend time with them. Your spouse is young and vibrant, full of energy. The house is alive with that familiar chaos of raising children and working. You feel so needed, and important. You get in the car and go somewhere as a family. The kids are making a mess and screaming, but you don’t mind for you’ve come to miss these moments. You feel the deep love between all of you. You call your parent, who is still alive, and talk for hours. You haven’t heard their voice in so long and now you get to tell them just how much you love them. At the end of the day, the kids do not want to go to bed and just wanted you to read to them. Not wanting the day to end, you sit there and read to them for hours. ☝️ If this is your life today… know that so many people wish to be back in what you consider a tiresome chaos. This may just be the golden era of your life. Love your kids. Call your parents. Enjoy this limited edition of your life ❤️

🚨 Bobby Witt Jr's On-Deck Routine • Lock in on the pitcher. • Time up your stride. • Visualize what you just saw w/ a swing. ⭐️ Your focus (or lack of it) on-deck is a difference-maker. Get into the box ready to compete.

@DetvrsEverybody @JLucroy20 Feel is literally all that matters if you are the one hitting or teaching a hitter. But if you’ve never done it you just watch videos and say “see they swing up” but have no actual understanding of what’s going on

@JLucroy20 my responses are objectively correct lol. you can have whatever feel that works for you, but that's pretty irrelevant to the point. Also, do you think Scottie Scheffler and Tiger Woods have the same swing thoughts in their golf swings? of course not, that'd be ridiculous

When you swing up (intentionally) you are fighting gravity. Barrel goes down then up. Loopy. This is why we (former players and analysts who actually played at a high level) and not you or any other TikTok hitting guys say what we say about the art form that is hitting a baseball. When your hands start high and on plane with pitch, then work “down” through it with the hands, the barrel planes out and you match the plane of the pitch. (Launch angle) Now it kinda blows MY mind when someone who has never done it starts chirping saying we don’t know what we are talking about. Hitting is feel, and you can bring all the data you want, which is important to a certain extent, but, the feel of the bat going down through the zone is actually what allows the barrel to match the correct plane (launch angle for the nerds). Sure you can get away with a swinging up feel when guys are throwing 70. But try it when you facing 95. Good luck.
DVE@DetvrsEverybody

@JLucroy20 kinda blows my mind the trackman has been out for over 20 years and former players and analysts still say nonsense like swing down and backspin it lmao

Rory McIlroy shares one of his favorite mantras and mindsets. "One of the things that I love is focusing on the process over the prize." "I would say to myself a lot: 'Process over prize. Process over prize. Process over prize.'" "Just to take myself away from the outcome." Own the process and focus on what you can control. Then he mentions what happens to all of us: "I can get real caught up in the outcome. I just really need to remind myself that the outcome will ultimately happen if you just focus on the process. It takes care of itself." Everyone loves outcomes, very few love the process. It means focus, discipline, consistency, and relentless commitment. It doesn't matter what you want, it matters what you are willing to consistently do. (🎥 icanflypod)

I'm going to say something that doesn't reflect well on me or my wife. We let the kids have the iPad for too long. Way too long. We realized that it was ruining their personalities. I watched it happen and I didn't act fast enough. We took the iPads away. Took the phones. All of it. And I got my children back. They’ve been de-zombified. The difference was immediate and it was dramatic. So let me give credit where it's due. Shout out to Jonathan Haidt. Shout out to Kara Swisher You think you're giving your kid entertainment. A way to decompress. Something to keep them occupied. You're handing them something that is quietly rewiring how they think, how they feel, and how they connect with the people right in front of them. Take it away. You'll get your kid back too. I promise you won’t regret it!

It was my son’s first professional fall season The Nationals invited him to instructs Probably because he was a catcher and lived in Florida Then, a few weeks before camp, the organization overhauled its entire player development staff At camp, the new group met with every player A quick “get to know you” conversation and a talk about individual development plans One of their questions: “What makes you great? Why are you a prospect?” Jake told me guys were answering things like: “I hit for power.” “I’ve got a great arm." I asked Jake, “What did you say?” He’s never been a showcase guy Not flashy. Not loud tools Just a ballplayer Jake said: “I looked them in the eye and said, I’m really good at winning baseball games.” It was a major proud dad moment for me That might be the most underrated tool in baseball today The skill of winning games is getting lost in all the metrics It’s possible to build the physical tools and the win tool at the same time.” At The ARMory, that’s exactly what we teach How to pair elite tools with the skill of winning Train smarter. Compete harder. Win more. floridabaseballarmory.com | 866-787-4533

@JLucroy20 As a coach the Catcher Pop is the function that I struggle with. We all have something to work on. Glad to see it it happens to the best of the best hitters in the world too. Please post if you find something that works.

Welcome to the Driveline hitting lab! I wish this was a joke but it’s not. The kid hitting is a 28 year old independent league player. This is the type of training people are paying ridiculous amounts of money for. He’s obviously over swinging to register higher EV’s and that swing will not work in the game! The craziest part is that @MLB teams are hiring guys like this to work with their hitters! #shegone @notgaetti @BobFile @twuench @billdubs @slider_sinker @hittingguru7 @TheRealJHair @ToddPratt07 @mikepiazza31 @JLucroy20 @SalMarinello
