Tommy Fleetwood says he got an “unbelievable tip” from Butch Harmon. This is a brilliant tip for amateurs too and it helps you rotate in posture. Give it a try and it’ll add control and speed to your swing 👍
@prodnose Early 80s at Rafters Manchester, supporting someone like Bauhaus or The Fall, there was this half naked mad guy with empty plastic containters tied by string to his arms and legs. He was making a right racket. I often try and research how he was.
Some golfers are "cheating" with the handicap system and don't even realize it.
This "cheating" tends to give an advantage to higher handicap players and a disadvantage to lower handicap players. (This is because this issue happens more frequently with higher handicap players).
When posting to GHIN, many golfers simply post their front nine and back nine totals, not their hole-by-hole score.
For handicap purposes, the maximum you can take on a hole is net double bogey.
When posting front nine and back nine total score, you are supposed to make this adjustment. If you made higher than net double bogey on a hole, you are supposed to adjust your score down to net double for that hole.
There are golfers that are NOT doing this. They are just posting their actual gross scores.
I think it should be mandated that golfers enter their hole-by-hole gross score for each round they play.
I know @YipStrickler would approve.
@MacAskill00@ryanmouquegolf Surprisingly, last winter, the greens were all open, even when frozen. The only time we were on winter greens was during maintenance.
Brilliant gig. Amazing to see Tony Visconti and Woody Woodmansey live. Glen Gregory still has a fantastic voice and did a great job delivering some of Bowie's finest with Woody Woodmansey's Holy Holy
@iaincartergolf 70 mins edit on Sounds, 115 mins on others. That's a lot of sponsor's adverts, or are there other things you cannot share on Sounds? Thank you anyway, love the pod.
Watching tour pros hit stock shots into a screen isn’t super exciting.
I would much rather they be forced to hit non-stock shots.
Massive hooks around a skyscraper.
Flight it crazy low under a bridge.
Etc…
Hitting a stock driver at a triangle shaped fairway is “meh”.
Me, watching an Olympic diver execute a perfect double somersault and three-quarter twist but then lose points for not entering the water straight: ‘I simply would have done the exact same dive but I would have kept my legs straight, thus winning the gold’
