Just to repeat for the Men at the back who have sat In silence. Sexual violence against women is never okay full stop. Right now in Glasgow, women and girls are living with real fear after a string of recent attacks: a woman raped in a lane near the Clyde, a 16-year-old allegedly raped in Springburn Park, and other serious sexual assaults across the city. Including the rape or women in the city centre. Local communities in places like Castlemilk, Cranhill and Royston have taken to the streets because they feel unsafe not because they are Right Wing. When some of the men involved are asylum seekers or refugees, saying so out loud is not “right-wing.” It’s basic solidarity with the women who have been attacked and with every woman who now feels less safe walking home. Protecting women and girls comes first before ideology, before political labels, before anyone’s feelings. And the men at the back who stay silent about this? They’re cowards too scared to call out the refugees committing these crimes.

@SNPINDYREF2 @GerryKeogh_ No, it works that way because the SNP government failed to appropriately legislate. It makes a mockery and reduces people’s confidence in government and the ability of the SNP to build a nation state. That you can’t see that is crazy.

If Scotland is to be independent the SNP have to start acting like a party who could manage that independence.

We have though been failed by successive governments on immigration/asylum, that has opened the door to the far right and also failed genuine asylum seekers and good immigrants.
