The £22m is not an HMRC finding, but one analyst’s counterfactual estimate of what 45p *might* have raised—a hypothesis which he expressly says the data “certainly does not prove”. There was no £ 22M loss of tax receipts.

@meanstreet2007 @5Pillarsuk Christianity teaches respect, compassion and consideration for others. I’d argue that includes not taking over public streets unnecessarily when there are places set aside for worship.

Islamophobic activist Kellie-Jay Keen was filmed at Speakers' Corner blocking Muslims from praying. She could be heard ranting that prayer is an "act of domination" and is against British values. Muslims are required to pray five times a day. The worshippers were clearly not disturbing or blocking anyone, instead praying quietly in a public space.

If Scotland is to be independent the SNP have to start acting like a party who could manage that independence.

Just to repeat for the Men at the back who have sat In silence. Sexual violence against women is never okay full stop. Right now in Glasgow, women and girls are living with real fear after a string of recent attacks: a woman raped in a lane near the Clyde, a 16-year-old allegedly raped in Springburn Park, and other serious sexual assaults across the city. Including the rape or women in the city centre. Local communities in places like Castlemilk, Cranhill and Royston have taken to the streets because they feel unsafe not because they are Right Wing. When some of the men involved are asylum seekers or refugees, saying so out loud is not “right-wing.” It’s basic solidarity with the women who have been attacked and with every woman who now feels less safe walking home. Protecting women and girls comes first before ideology, before political labels, before anyone’s feelings. And the men at the back who stay silent about this? They’re cowards too scared to call out the refugees committing these crimes.
