The anti-alcohol stuff has become totally hysterical. It’s the worst and the gayest of the 90s anti-smoking propaganda all over again. Give up alcohol if you want but the stuff isn’t battery acid. A sip won’t send you to the hospital. A glass of wine ruined three days of your life? When did it become normal and acceptable for men to brag about their weak constitutions? Really weird.

The health consciousness stuff has gone massively overboard. People walking around with bands tracking their vital signs every second of the day like they’re astronauts on the ISS. Treating alcohol or sugar like it’ll kill them if they look at it. Tracking their sleep. Counting their steps. It’s possible to live a healthy life without being an obsessive, paranoid lunatic. You’re gonna die either way. In a few decades you’ll be just as dead as the rest of us, if not sooner. Relax a little and live your life while you still can.

Even though they’re obviously trying to paint him as the bad guy, doesn’t it seem like Goliath embodies the traditional European notions of Courage and Honor better than David does in this scene?
Goliath does not want to fight a child, an opponent far weaker than him,
he even offers him a weapon and converses with him.
Upon hearing david’s appeals to his god, Goliath even accepts the challenge to fight a God.
And what does David do?
He sneaks him while he’s not looking.

2 competent, fully coherent, men in their 50s/60s disagreeing at the margins about ways to make our society a little more productive. Nothing but respect for one another.

The crack-smoking, hooker-financing, Burisma-cashing, sister-in-law-banging, gun-charge-convicted, pardon-receiving heir to a political dynasty who sold finger-painted canvases for half a million dollars to anonymous buyers while his father was president, who texted slurs, torched a rental car full of evidence, and walked out of federal court a convicted felon before his father wiped the slate with a pardon so sweeping it covered crimes not yet charged. That man. That’s who she’s nodding along with while he reframes himself as a misunderstood addict and a fellow victim of “the gaslighting”?
I never want to hear her called a conservative commentator again.
