Frosty night for our first responders in Leicester yesterday ❄️

Our second day of training new recruits is underway at Leicester University this morning. They have a full day ahead of them, and will be joined by some of our current level 2s as they up-skill to level 3, allowing them to respond to paediatric and trauma call on behalf of EMAS

@EMAS_CFR @jimr1066 Always check your kit - we find an A-E approach helps makes sure you have anything and always make sure you bring snacks, you never know how long you will be at a call for.

Sessions have included interactive cases and questions for discussion. We hope to run similar sessions for our students on other courses and year groups. A small return, for the huge amount of time our volunteers give to our scheme! 2/2

Many of our volunteers are students at @uniofleicester and @dmuleicester , meaning they respond alongside their studies. To support some of our responders with upcoming exams, @Jonathan_Ince has been facilitating peer revision sessions for the last 9 weeks. 1/2

May was a busy month for our scheme in #Leicester! An amazing 318 hours volunteered by our @uniofleicester and @dmuleicester responders, supporting @EMASNHSTrust.

Katie and Jane are out supporting @EMASNHSTrust today. Katie is a final year @dmuleicester pharmacy student who is on one of her last shifts before leaving Leicester. Since joining last year, she has volunteered over 100 hours and responded to over 50 patients. Thank you Katie!
