@MartinSLewis Making a meal menu for the week ahead so I don’t over buy or buy unnecessarily in the supermarket. That was borne out of hating any waste but lends itself well to anyone trying to make and stick to a budget.

@CommunityCare 2. right. Surely we need to at least attempt to emotionally support them rather than a simple ‘computer says no’ attitude? They come to the attention of social care when problems already exist, whatever those problems may be, so therapeutic support needs to mobilise immediately.

@GSDvine This knocked me sideways. She innocently let her dogs out before bed. I’m watching mine like a hawk now & shouldn’t feel like this but because it happened in my own town I feel even more fearful. People shouldn’t worry about their own dogs in their own gardens 😞

@MikeHaywardWS1 In my LA we are trying really hard to move away from negative language like this & use more language that cares. If I could go back & rewrite files from years gone by I would. But I can’t. I can just try now & be better with my language & support my staff to be better too.

“Refused to engage, failed to engage, refused to accept support, makes unwise choices, puts self at risk” - is this really what we think about young people? We need to go beyond thinking about language and consider the meaning and impact of what we say and write
