Interestingly, by studying the knockouts cells of Tpm1 and Tpm3 we found that Tpm1 and Tpm3-actin filaments not only have specific functions in cell morphology and cell migration but also, they are critical for FA maturation and #microtubule-dependent disassembly.

In brief, our study is focused on two tropomyosin isoforms; Tpm1 and Tpm3. By using iPALM, we found that these two tropmyosin-specified #actin filaments form spatially distinct actin layers within the nanoscale strata of focal adhesions.
