It's comical (and predictable) that when data like this is presented, the go-to move by critics (and trolls) is to take shots at someone's family, workplace & motives. 🤦 Consequently, it only confirms the inequities that continue to be exposed. #ClubVsCommunity

So that's either 21.9% or 25% of the quarterfinal spots for a group that represents 12.1% of the overall field. Remember, too, that 31 of the 79 private teams in the tourney (28.2%) have been eliminated by other private teams. @FromTheSeidline I still believe that the biggest variable that people overlook is the % of private schools eliminated in postseason by OTHER private schools. I have to imagine the ave. margin of loss in those games is significantly lower than games V. Public schools.

What disgusts me is when people watch these teams win as a result of benefitting from built enrollments and then call into question the ability, desire, and motivation of those at a disadvantage. You call it "whining" I call it defending.

Josh Tropea is an elite coach. And the Jackson County All-Star team that he has assembled this season plays an impressive brand of 🏀. But it is absolute horse💩 that this "club" team is playing in the D3 state tournament against public schools with similar enrollment. Do better, MHSAA! You're failing your membership -- especially the ones who have their seasons ended year in and year out by the same private school. #ClubVsCommunity

@CoachJoshBragg @FromTheSeidline The issue isn't "open enrollment". The issue is that pub. and priv. are 2 ENTIRELY different types of institutions. One can deny student enrollment, the other cannot. They should not be forced to play one another in the post season.

Imagine if the 89 private-school boys 🏀 teams in Michigan had their own tournament? 😳 Three divisions of 22 teams and one of 23, all broken into four regionals – with the winner of each regional moving onto the Final Four. The four state champions would have to win 4-5 games over a two-week period to claim the 🏆.
