Web3 communities are still built around a core team that holds the roadmap, the treasury, and the narrative. Everyone else participates on the edges reacting, not shaping.
That model made sense early on. It doesn't scale into genuine ecosystems.
When direction stays centralized, value accumulates in the same small circle. Contributors show up, but they don't stay because there's no real stake in what gets built.
