$AMD with a nice upside move this week. I bought this on Wednesday in expectation to have some cushion into earnings on Wednesday. In bull markets, I make it a top priority to find a way into the strongest technical and fundamental CANSLIM stocks.

$ALGM broke out of a cup with a mini handle base on Thursday where I went long ahead of earnings next Thursday. Volume has been pretty high out of this move with the stock closing strong each of the last couple of days. My plan next week is to sit on this and if I have at least a 15% cushion I will hold a full position. Any less and half gets sold into before the report.

The worst feeling is when you feel like you’ve got a handle on a trade and it blows up on you. I was up 25% on this name and took a loss this morning on the entire trade. No trimming.

Man I love this quote. Buying a stock doesn’t happen by overthinking and over analyzing in real time. Buying happens when you already have a predetermined plan for the trade before entering it. Some of the best trades you will ever make come from simplicity and never over analyzing during the screening study. Trading is not hard unless you make it hard. Follow the leaders and the trend. Have a plan to respect risk.
