**The Way Back Machine.** In July of 2016, I met Erin Stewart for coffee in Middletown and we had a 2½-hour conversation on politics. What struck me most about her was how she seemed far more astute and beyond her years in her political thought. She grew up in a political family and it was obvious she understood how to do politics. What surprised me most started with the Dennis House interview where she stated she had been bribed all the time, then the pension she felt entitled to, and culminating in the misuse of public funds for her personal use. At some point she must have known it was wrong. I hate to see her career end this way too. She always seemed so promising and successful. As of today, May 14, 2026, Erin Stewart has suspended her campaign for Connecticut governor following the release of a detailed investigative report on her use of a New Britain city-issued purchase card. The report highlights over $207,000 in charges from 2016–2025, many for personal items delivered to her home — clothing, cosmetics, baby supplies, family events, and more — with a significant portion lacking receipts and deemed unrelated to city business. The findings have been referred for potential criminal investigation. She and her family will have to deal with this for a long time. My hope is she will be treated with some leniency given the height of this public fall she has suffered. Corruption in politics isn’t always some big event. It’s many events which become a pattern. People in this situation almost seem oblivious they have done anything wrong. A promising career that began with such potential now ends in disappointment. Time will tell how this chapter closes, but Connecticut politics lost a talented voice today.

On April 4th, a likely mentally-ill African man was behaving erratically in a Market Basket parking lot. I exchanged words with him, encouraging him to leave both the parking lot and the beautiful state of New Hampshire entirely. For this, I was arrested. Neither of us came within physical reach of one another, and I expect the matter to be dropped by the city of Manchester. Additionally, I am exploring legal action against the city. This incident is yet another example of how our government treats mentally-ill and dangerous African men as saints, and how the police prevent decent men from maintaining order in American cities and towns. The footage of my arrest is below. As someone who loves New Hampshire and attempts to make our state look good, it embarrasses me that our police our this incompetent.
