Sometimes it seems the most racist man in the world couldn't parody black people as well as black people do themselves. 🚘I worked in the automotive repair industry for a long time, so allow me to explain how insane this is... First of all, nearly every vehicle manufactured in the last 20yrs will inform you when an oil change is needed. This is dependent upon a number of factors such as engine hours, driving miles, and the type of oil that the engine was designed for and its typical life expectancy. If you "thoughted I needed the ol' changed" then you're probably too stupid to know when the car is signaling to you an oil change is needed every single time you turn the engine on. Having dealt with black customers, I can say that this is pretty common to see them come in for their oil change every 10-20k miles when the sticker says 5k and the light has been on for months. Running a brand new car to 35k on the original oil till the engine breaks down and the manufacturer denies the warranty claim because the onboard computer says the oil has never been changed, and the owner can't provide any documentation stating otherwise, as we drain sludge out of the oil pan? Yep, I've seen it. But that's not all... If you get an oil change and drive even a few hundred miles, your oil is likely to be dark colored. Maybe not pitch black and thick like maple syrup, but it won't be "as clean as a mothafuck'n baby's ass" which suggests either this guy thought he needed another oil change only a hundred miles after the last one, or the technician is an idiot, or it's all a lie. Next, an "Ol' Shop" is not going to tell someone they don't need an oil change. We don't know when or why you need one. We only know that you asked for one. Some new engines even recommend you get the first oil change after the first few thousand miles, before the recommended interval, to remove any microscopic metal particles. You may be a secret shopper doing your rounds and the oil is clean because you just did another secret shopper visit somewhere else recently. Furthermore, by the time we're checking the oil level on the dipstick we've already got the vehicle in position and we're not going to stop doing what the customer asked us to do. Why? Because we don't normally deal with customers who need us to give them financial assistance in the form of declined maintenance. It's likely this guy just didn't want to do the job and the customer misunderstood the technician's intentions. Finally, this insinuation that "Ol' Shops" are just ripping people off by performing the customer's requested oil change is silly. But I have seen black customers not understand why oil needs to even be changed, demand cheap oil because they didn't check what their used Dodge Challenger with 90k miles actually required for regular maintenance, or even tell me we ripped them off when the inspection states the oil was "full before draining" as if oil was meant to be empty before changing like a gas tank is meant to be low before filling up. I've seen it all. I can say with near absolute certainty that most of the cars in the black community just aren't even getting oil changes ever. Also, what is that skull row the dude is sporting?🤨
