Reality for a lot of Oregonians: Families priced out, businesses struggling with costs and regs, Portland still wrestling with disorder that spills over, and rural communities feeling the squeeze from policies cooked up in the same bubble.
Those “values” sound great on a graphic.
The results on the ground? Not so much for the people actually trying to live, work, and raise kids here.

@LaneOregon In business 29 years in Eugene and not one thing has been done to help businesses. Its always a new tax, benefit, higher minimum wage, sick leave, ETC. Now prices are so high Oregon is unaffordable. In their quest to get big corporations, they have been destroying small business.

The moment is now going viral, with conservatives mocking the response as Democrats battle to replace former nominee Graham Platner.

Trump didn’t show “how secure” our elections are — he exposed how broken and vulnerable they still are. Declassified intel: China hacked/bought voter data in 18 states (220 million files — names, addresses, party prefs). DHS found hundreds of thousands of noncitizens on rolls nationwide. Mail-in ballots? Tens of millions “floating through the mail” with no real checks.
Oregon is Exhibit A:
• DMV Motor Voter disasters: 1,600–1,940+ people (mostly potential non-citizens) wrongly auto-registered due to clerical errors. Dozens actually cast ballots. More legacy errors (118+) uncovered later.
• Oregon DOJ referred cases for investigation after non-citizens got on rolls and voted. Some investigations stalled, but the damage was done.
• Trump DOJ just sent Sec. of State Tobias Read a letter warning election officials of criminal liability for knowingly keeping noncitizens on rolls or letting them vote. Five days to explain compliance.
• Voter rolls were a mess — hundreds of thousands of inactive voters not cleaned up for years (Judicial Watch lawsuit forced changes).
Universal mail-in + automatic registration without ironclad proof of citizenship = exactly the kind of system China and others exploit. “Rare” proven fraud doesn’t erase the systemic holes that let ineligible people onto the rolls and get ballots.
Kotek can hide behind “facts and rule of law” all she wants. The errors, warnings, and Trump’s docs prove why we need the SAVE Act now — proof of citizenship to register, photo ID to vote, real roll maintenance.
Call Wyden, Merkley & Hoyle and demand it. Our votes aren’t secure until we fix this. Or keep crying foul behind a fake account and your burner account.
