Oregon waterway permit initiative to repeal the new fees on kayaks, paddleboards, and all non-motorized craft is dead in the water — they only got ~32k signatures out of 117k needed for the ballot. This whole mess started with HB 2982 that Rep. Ed Diehl voted YES on, expanding the permit to hit regular folks floating the river. Now even Diehl admits it was a mistake and wants to roll it back. Government overreach on our outdoor traditions again. Salem strikes, rural Oregon pays. Time to hold them accountable before next session.

Lived experiences like this? They trump imaginary successes that Kotek and her administration push. If you don’t feel for the people affected by this-you are the problem.

@RedWaveOR I use to contract with Daimler when I worked as a Project Manager for Evans Metal Fab on Swan Island. It's a damn shame to see them go.

Newsom won’t let California tax its own billionaires. Instead he’s pushing a national version so the rest of the country can run the experiment. This is the playbook: CA tests the radical policy. Oregon Democrats often import a version 2–5 years later. We’ve already got California-lite on emissions rules, privacy laws, labor mandates, and more. Now they want to bring this one too. Don’t let them. #oregon #california @pdxmoderate @spencerpratt

Gov. Gavin Newsom is breaking with his own party. The Dem governor is standing against California Democrats after the state party backed a controversial ballot measure to tax billionaires. "I'm voting no because this measure dedicates almost all of the revenue it raises to a single category of state spending." Newsom says he instead supports "a national billionaires' tax" with a minimum tax rate for the wealthiest Americans, but not California's proposal. The measure will go before California voters in 2026.

@RedWaveOR Set a new record today. Due to severe lack of federal compliance and poor neglectful land management Oregon now has over 2 million acres burned and counting. But that's Trumps fault for trying to stop the fraud here, right? smh what a shitshow. VOTE !!!!

Let it be known. Kotek is desperate. She knows the numbers don’t lie. She’s blaming Trump for every single failure in Oregon. Problem is Kotek has been governor longer than Trump has sat in his second term. Newsflash Tina: Drazan is your opponent. Voters: Don’t lose sight of November. Drazan or despair. Drazan or economic failure. Drazan or more smoke and mirrors. Choice is clear. Red wave November. #oregon @LaneOregon @ClackCoGOP @WashCo_OR

President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” and its historic Medicaid cuts will hurt patients, families, and the people who care for us but united with our frontline health care workers, I will do everything we can to protect Oregonians and our health care system.

Federal Money, I repeat this is federal money. Oregon’s drowning in crime, tents, and addiction — and Tina’s suing Trump to block the feds from seeing who is actually getting federal welfare money. Why would you want to hide this list so desperately? #oregon #kotekscorecard @MrJoshuaYoder
Governor Tina Kotek@GovTinaKotek

Today, Oregon joined 23 other states, the District of Columbia, and two other governors to fight the Trump administration’s attempts to access the private records of millions of individuals who rely on assistance for low-income families.

Mail in voting is the pinchbeck standard with gold paint on it. Trump isn't attacking it alone. I detest it. My Grandmother walked into the polling place and filled out her ballot at 94 years old. Her mother did as well two decades before that. If those two old biddies can saunter in and vote we all can, with the exception of the bedridden, expats or military folks. VBM is fraud on the couch.

Oregon passed all-mail voting in 1998 and ran the first all-mail presidential election in 2000. Colorado didn’t even start until 2013… under you. You didn’t create the gold standard. You copied the state that actually did it first. Hard to take the rest of the lecture seriously after that. That’s why people don’t believe in this. #oregon #colorado
Senator John Hickenlooper@SenatorHick

As governor of Colorado, we created the gold-standard mail-in voting system in the country. Now, red states and blue states alike use it because it’s safe and secure.  Don’t get it twisted: Trump is attacking mail-in voting and is obsessed with the SAVE America Act because he wants to make it harder for YOU to vote.

Kotek owns this. “For some, this was a job. For me, it was my legacy.” 33-year supervisor. His son works there too. Third generation. Walking out the doors together for the last time. 375 more family-wage manufacturing jobs gone from Swan Island. 84 years of building trucks in Portland… over. This is the Oregon under one-party rule. #oregon #kotekscorecard

What kind of comparison is this?! Private wedding money and political ads are not the same thing. Two rich people spending their own cash on a party ≠ groups running ads to influence an election. “Buying a seat” only becomes a crisis when the money is aimed at progressives. Selective outrage is always the tell. #wtf
Elizabeth Warren@ewarren

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding at Madison Square Garden? $30 million. The amount special interests have spent against @AbdulElSayed in the Michigan Senate race? $60 MILLION. Twice as much to try and buy one Senate seat. It’s the many vs. the money. Vote for Abdul.

PeaceHealth is outsourcing IT to Tech Mahindra, an India-based company. Local IT layoffs coming after November. Same system that closed Eugene’s only hospital ER (University District) in 2023, laid off hospice nurses in Lane County earlier this year, and is facing nearly $500,000 in proposed state fines for repeated violations of Oregon’s nurse staffing law at RiverBend. They put over $1 million behind “Yes for a Healthy Future” (Measure 108 tobacco tax) and $5,000 into “Yes for Lane County Parks.” People tied to PeaceHealth sent roughly $217,000 in federal contributions last cycle, the large majority to Democrats, including $81,000 to Kamala Harris. They call it “modernizing.” Local jobs and local caregivers keep getting treated as optional. Have you ever tried going to Riverbend? Staff will tell you their hands are tied. Crazy times. #oregon #peacehealth @fivekiddos2005 klcc.org/science-techno…

There’s a reason why I back certain people. I believe in them. Social media matters and this is how you actually do it. Calling issues out matters and this is how you actually do it. Barbara isn’t running focus-grouped slogans. Shes not making excuses. She’s not listening to strategists who tell her to avoid issues. She’s also listening to communities. Shes taking action and meeting constituents. Shes taking this seriously. She’s in the medical field, breaking down why Medicare for All is just a bigger bandaid on a broken cost structure, and pointing out the DNC can’t even balance its own books. Straight talk. Every other candidate should take notes. She’s absolutely nailing it. #oregon #congress @DRKAHL4CONGRESS
Barbara Kahl@DRKAHL4CONGRESS

The incumbent correctly notes the healthcare system is expensive and leaves people exposed. The solution she offers is pure expansion: more federal spending, Medicare for All, universal coverage. That addresses the symptom while ignoring the drivers: hospital and insurer consolidation that has jacked prices far above inflation, administrative bloat, and limited competition. Government can’t just keep writing bigger checks when the underlying cost structure is broken. That’s not reform; it’s a bigger bandaid paid for by taxpayers. Who benefits when costs rise and Medicare continues to pay excessive prices? Its not taxpayers! Funny timing. The DNC is living the exact same principle right now. As of the latest FEC numbers, it has more debt than cash on hand (~$18.5 million debt versus $16.3 million cash), put its headquarters up as collateral for a $15 million loan, and has reportedly asked vendors to hold their bills until after the midterms. Meanwhile the RNC sits on over $128 million with zero debt. Spend more, control less, then wonder why the books don’t balance. Coverage expansion without cost discipline doesn’t fix healthcare any more than unlimited spending without revenue discipline fixed the DNC’s balance sheet. I'm in the medical field and understand directly the impact of programs like Medicare for all--without restraint. It fixes nothing, and taxes keep rising. Fiscal accountability is lacking. Vote Barbara Kahl in November. Enough is Enough! @osmngld @Oregon_GOP

Tina’s back on the stage clutching pearls over federal agents covering their faces. “I will never stop defending the rights and freedoms of the people who call Oregon home.” That’s rich coming from the same leadership that watched downtown rot, businesses flee, homelessness explode, and crime become background noise. We need a governor who actually prioritizes public safety over the next talking point. Kotek is not it. #oregon #drazan @TeamDrazan
Tina Kotek@TinaKotek

When President Trump deployed masked federal agents into Oregon communities, my MAGA opponent, Christine Drazan, didn’t say a word against it. In fact, she was absent when a bill to prohibit federal agents from wearing masks was up for a vote. I will never stop defending the rights and freedoms of the people who call Oregon home.

Salem-Keizer just announced they’re shutting down up to 8 elementary schools starting in 2027. They’re calling it “protecting the conditions for teaching and learning.” Here’s the real picture: Enrollment peaked at over 42,000 students in 2017. It’s sitting around 37,850 now and still dropping toward 35,000. That’s a loss of 4,000 to 7,000 kids in under a decade. Birth rates are down, that’s true. But it doesn’t explain the whole thing. Oregon saw a big jump in homeschooling and private school enrollment after 2020. District officials have even said only about 75% of local families are still choosing public schools, down from closer to 90% before the pandemic. Parents voted with their damn feet. A lot of them, myself included, got sick of the activism, the gender policies, the constant political messaging, and the feeling that academics and basic trust had taken a back seat. When schools start acting like ideological institutions instead of places that teach kids how to read, write, and think, families leave if they can. State, school districts, Oregons “leaders” and school unions can own that. Now Salem-Keizer has more buildings than students. Consolidation isn’t optional anymore. Predictable result from years of experimental ideation. #oregon #kotek @JustAmyMcC @DRKAHL4CONGRESS
