@MartinSLewis@politico abolish the interest being charged on student loans, but do not write off the loan. As long as the borrower is in employment, they have to repay at least until retirement. Incentivise for clearing the loan early (knock off 0.1% if 10% of loan bal is paid in a year)
The govt should find 100 small things that piss people off & fix em, such as…
Ta to @politico for the vid, at its Labour fringe event, I explained that as big changes take time, govts should also have a team focused on small winnable change.
What little fixes'd you want?
@SkyNews Over the years, the standard/quality of life has gone down drastically. Everything aroud us - roads, transport systems, health, education, defence, food & even rubbish collection. We are paying more in taxes (inc stealth), have less disposable income. Not so ‘Great’ Britain
@SW_Help can we please give a medal and bonus to the people who decided to run a four-carriage train during the rush hour. 17:57 train from Waterloo to Strawberry Hill. No consideration for people joining in Vauxhall & beyond.
@MartinSLewis We got into this situation when war broke out and the price of oil went up. But oil prices have since fallen. So why are we still seeing price hikes like this?
Bad news. The predictions for what'll happen to the energy price cap in April keep rising. EDF now predicted Ofgem will increase it by 3.3% rise, British Gas predicts 5%, Eon Next predicts 5.7%.
We're only a couple of weeks from the end of the assessment period. So that means this is getting pretty firm. Its now nearly unthinkable that it'll drop, it's going to rise, the big question is how much.
@bbclaurak if this budget & tax increases are about plugging the so called £40 billion, if the funds are raised in a year, will the chancellor reverse all these tax increases?
@ESPNcricinfo For the first time in my life, I’ve found a cricket tournament to be less exciting. I’m hoping that the second phase would wanna spend more time in front of the television. I’d rate the tournament so far to be 3 out of 10.
@ESPNcricinfo Though the laws may have been correctly applied, it’s not to the spirit of the game. Real schoolboy behaviour by @Sah75official and he is going to be forever remembered for this. A sad/dark day for BAN cricket.
