@Reganrant Same with Gard as a second-rounder who is already a man among boys size-wise. If Schmidt and Gard are flanking England for his draft year, look out for Seattle next season. But I’d be a bit surprised if either return, let alone both.

Interesting move for Seattle to acquire a marquee player (Cameron Schmidt) yet are rumoured to be moving Braeden Cootes. Is the fear Cootes will play NCAA next season and Schmidt won’t, or would Cootes fall into the new rule of one 19 year-old playing in AHL next season?

@Reganrant Probably depends if Dallas signs him and which 19-year-old they want in the AHL. He is already leading the league in scoring and this is his third 30+ goal season, not sure how much more he has to prove in the now much younger WHL. He’d be a ringer going through the motions.

@Reganrant Seeing Rick’s tweet on Cootes trade, he wouldn’t put that out there without quality sources, but maybe these moves convince agent and Canucks that staying in Seattle isn’t a bad thing. Stay tuned!

@Reganrant And yes Seattle is in “last place” but only 7 points out with 33 games to go, only played 35. Halfway through the season and four ringers following world juniors. They will go on a run now and be a team you don’t want to face in the first round or at all.

Vojtech Cihar scored twice in the third period, giving Czechia a 4-3 lead with this beauty before finishing off Canada with an empty netter! Czechia will take on Sweden in tomorrow's gold-medal game, while Canada will face Finland for bronze at the #WorldJuniors! #WJC2026

For the record, I had Galvas ranked 54th as a first-time eligible in 2024 — ironically, one spot ahead of the Swiss goal scorer and fellow defender Leon Muggli (55th) — and had him ranked 61st for 2025 as my fifth-ranked overager behind Pickford, Cerrato, Aiden Park and Epperson.

As somebody who has had Tomas Galvas ranked as a second-round prospect the past two years — only to see him go twice undrafted — I'm thinking the third time could be the charm for him, potentially in the second round! #WorldJuniors #WJC2026

Ethan MacKenzie making Team Canada was quite the story but scoring what stood up as the winner in their wild opener was absolutely epic! MacKenzie, who remains eligible for the #2026NHLDraft, also assisted on Tij Iginla's go-ahead goal in the third period before netting the decisive tally in Canda's 7-5 victory over Czechia! #WorldJuniors #WJC2026 Scouting reports at @PuckPedia: puckpedia.com/scouting-repor…
