Great reporting. How many kids (me included in the ’80s) fell in love with ballparks because of the food? If my dad took me and my three brothers to a game today, he’d probably pack bologna sandwiches on white bread with butter just to survive the prices. And honestly… there’s no way I’d be a baseball fan without the food.

I'm a Slap Shot fan but I think Major League holds up a lot better. To me Major League is the perfect baseball movie, minus the Jake Taylor romance, which is a bit of a drag but does create some classic moments (i.e. "want me to drag him out of here, kick the shit out of him?" and "We have uniforms and everything.")

@LastComiskey For just baseball movies, "Bull Durham" gets my vote. Entertaining story, great cast chemistry.
The comedy bits in "Major League" were predictable, especially for any baseball fan in that era. I'd argue they even stole from "Slap Shot," which is a superior sports film.

Derek Hill told me he journals after every at-bat. Tracking what opposing pitchers throw, how the pitches look, and the result.
Before facing Matt Strahm tonight, he went back to notes from when he faced him earlier this season in KC. His note?
“Slider or something down. Look in. Make a pull early and get it out front.”
Tonight’s homer came on a slider down and in. Preparation paying off. 🫡 #whitesox

An idea that came from a high school student, championed by @IleanaGarciaUSA & @JimMooney120, will improve the educational lives of many kids living with seizures. ❤️

The Epilepsy in Schools Act is headed to the Governor with a 37-0 vote in @FLSenate! Thank you @IleanaGarciaUSA for amazing work getting it out of the Senate, and @JimMooney120 for championing it in the House. This bill will appreciably improve the lives of kids with seizures!

@LastComiskey Rowand had one good season after he was traded. He wasn't even close to being a Chelios-like figure. 🤣 Meanwhile, Thome had a .933 OPS and 134 HRs for the Sox--numbers that would've been even better had Ozzie not eventually insisted on Kotsay over him.

I’ll always hold steady that the biggest mistake the Sox made in my lifetime was trading Rowand. He was the quintessential heart of the 2005 White Sox in every way. He was the Sox’s Chris Chelios.

I remember watching that and thinking it was the kind of frustrated thing a lot of players do and they are usually fine. Do I remember that right? So in that regard I remember thinking it was a fluke. I can't find the video online (didn't search much) but it would be interesting to see that again.
