I'm an idiot.... I just figured out i recorded all of the shots for my trailer in 16:10 aspect ratio, as that is my screen ar. Can't believe I missed that... And only figured it out after my steam page submission. So I will be recording all trailer footage once again 😭

@stphantomscript Everyone's goals are different! 10, 100, 1,000, 10,000. Any of these can be a meaningful achievement for a team!

Dice Carnival just reached 1,000 wishlists, 4 days before launch. It may not sound huge compared to bigger indie games, but for us it means a lot. We made this game without a publisher or marketing budget, just the two of us trying to build something we care about. The game launches on July 17. @spoocle has great advice listed. I just wanted to add in addition to small games, set very clear goals for yourself within that game. Our first game has very easy to achieve goals that gave the team time to decide what to do next. e.g. Title Screen Core mechanic (Move or shoot or collect items) Core mechanic 2 Win condition Ending screen. Even this was hard as first time devs. but when it was completed, we circled around and decided if we wanted to expand this idea more or explore another. It felt good to have quick easy to win milestones.

It might be time for me to start my own game dev journey, so my question to ALL my game developer followers is: What is the best way to get started? What development tools do you recommend, which videos do I need to watch? Just in general, what are your tips & tricks?
